      It's close to being really good for a budget basher but that esc isn't set right. too bad its non programmable.

    Yeah I got it I’m new to Rc and I’m retired so I’m trying to get into a hobby. Hi sum replaced the front diff and now the rear is gone so I ordered new ones but I was told to contact Hosim because they have good customer service. So I sent them an email and waiting to hear back. Hopefully they’ll fix it.

      I was trying to see if a wltoys hardened steel diff would fit but never got to it. The design of the diff gears seems weak in these. Since it doesn't have a slipper clutch the diffs take a beating. Gotta be careful with throttle when landing or doing anything harsh to it. Not a bad rc at all just needs some kinks worked out. Hope they help you out.

    Unfortunately, I purchased this truck and you are right the ESC problem is horrible causing the truck to break… The bottom line is Hosim put out a product that was not good and if you purchase this truck, you made a mistake… Hopefully they will rectify the problem one day

    Just pre ordered the X16 for my daughter. I hope the drag brake is fixed... if not probably wouldn't be bad for her first car anyways!

      its not too bad. It won't stop you from having fun with it. I would stay clear of huge jumps unless you like replacing diff ring and pinion gears.

    RC guy garage really knocked this thing because of that drag brake thing. I agree with him I think it’s weird and shouldn’t be there. I’m a Hosim fan boy but that’s a bad design or a design flaw

      I'm a fan of all RCs but they have to perform well. I'm here to get people in the hobby so I can't recommend this in its stock form. It's so close to being good. No drag brake and a slipper clutch and this could have been a good one.

    Looks pretty similar to the xlf x03/x04 platform. If it is anything like it, you might want to keep a few diffs on hand. Mine eats one up just about every time I take it out.

      This one already has a stripped front diff but still work surprisingly.

    If they release a V2 with no drag brake at the same price, I’m 100% in.

    So you think your first run may have damaged the diff using stock esc?or even the diffs are so bad a 2s run with a proper esc would not last? What able adding a lot of grease?Maybe that would save diffs...thanks for sharing.😊

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  14 днів тому

      you can save diffs by driving better than me lol. I was landing jumps on full throttle and hitting stuff. If you dont vash too hard it should be fine.

    What parts did you use and do you have a link to buy the parts?

      I contacted Hosim on Facebook messenger. They usually can help you get some parts for there RCs.

  • @kaskalo2

    Would simply changing the receiver solve the problem? Why esc as well?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  9 місяців тому

      unfortunately this RC has a ECS/Receiver combo so you would need a new receiver and esc to replace the 2in1 esc/receiver.

    Crap!! Hosim x08 is crap!! It's not budget at all! Stripped diffs in less than a week! It would be budget of it was 50 bucks instead of 250. Plus it has auto brake so don't try and jump it over anything without keeping your finger on the throttle. I bought one and it's been broke for 3 months. 2 months waiting for parts and 1 month after I fixed almost the entire car and it broke again in ledges than 20 minutes. Do not buy!! Save your money and get something better with better Costomer service and better part availablility. Get a hbx 96889a pro for a budget basher car.

      I broke mine within 24hrs. They sent me the part (front diff) took a week contacted them directly. I know the speed I received my replacement part may not be the normal experience. I mention the price and my thoughts on this and run it broken in the video. HBX makes some good stuff.
