You need a seam ripper to help get the stitching out. I watch my daughter pick at seams (she is learning to sew) and it drives me nuts. Haha! As always beautiful work. I think the black is more versatile for outfits. The owner will be so happy!

I liked the red way better. I was impressed how well the dye worked though. your technique for installing the sole protection @ the toe end, is way better than another video I saw here. you could see that guys seam from outer space. you're a maniac for using that razor to trim that sole protector. makes no sense to me why you would risk doing it that way. call me crazy, but you got the heel protection cut quite nicely before installing it. so why not the sole portion as well? yeah, I know the contact cement is real sticky. but a boo boo on gluing is way easier to fix than the potential damage with that razor blade. plus, have you ever cut yourself with a razor blade? I slipped and needed 9 stitches. js.

It makes me sad how in the US we buy cheap mass produces products and toss them away at the smallest tear. 60 years ago we had a cobbler in my small town. He could make a living here. My dad wore boots his entire life. This man resoled them. I loved the smells in his shop. Dad kept his boots for 30, 40, 50 years!
