Please, please wear a nose covering when cutting. That silica dust will cause you to get silicosis a serious lung disease caused by inhaling this type of dust over several years. You guys do awesome work and I want to see you doing what you love for many more years to come. Thanks and may God continue to bless you guys.
Great video! I have such a huge project to do with these and this was very helpful. I like how you only cut one end of each capstone. Question, why chop the end pieces? Wouldn’t it be just as easy to cut the inside piece of it? I’m asking because I don’t have a chopper. :(
I am a novice at this stuff. Basic question: Should the capping start from the middle of the wall to each end thereby adding symmetry with the end caps having the same cut demensions? Or is it Standard procedure to begin capping a wall staring from the end instead? Thanks.
Me too, very sharp looking. And yes, curved is more expensive because of all the caps you need to cut to make them fit right. With a straight wall, you don't need to cut very many caps.
Thank you! I typically use concrete adhesive made by (SRW Products) But most concrete adhesives are pretty comparable. Not sure if you have SRW available near you, if not, I'm sure you can find one made by a different manufacturer that will be just fine. ✌
It is just called a block splitter. There are quite a few different manufacturers and styles out there but it is designed to give you a nice split face look for custom corners.

Nice, congratulations man! I'm glad my videos are helping, I'm sure you got plenty of ideas popping in your head for the house. You will enjoy doing them for sure, nothing like enjoying the hard work you put into a property. Good luck brother!
What are those caps called and do they overhang on each side? I have 12” versa lok wall blocks and the caps they gave me are 12” deep so it’s flush on both sides and I hate it.
They are made by (Techo Bloc) and are called (Architectural Cap). They are 13" deep. The blocks I used are 11" deep. it is designed for use as a double sided wall with 1" overhang on each side.
Thank you for sharing! Looks good. One tiny criticism is that the caps would look nicer if all of the cuts were in line with the radius of the curve (ie perpendicular to the wall). That probably means twice the # of cuts and more wasted material. And I like to put some glue in between all my rows. Just being picky!
I hear you, it would look nice. But you are correct with it making a lot more waste and time spent. This left them with a solid product with a good price. I appreciate the feedback ✌🏻
@@TheChristianHardscaper Totally. With the costs of everything including labor skyrocketing these days, most clients will appreciate anything you can do to keep labor minimal without sacrificing quality!
I have been racking my brain cus some of my retaining wall has a variable radius; the somewhat randomness of the cap sizes is almost attractive, as it doesn't allow the eye to find flaws in perfectly splitting the difference. Esp on a variable radius, where the angle on each cut cannot be the same
A wonderful job and so good to see a tradesman taking such pride in his work - having worked in the building industry for 48 years that pride is certainly not evident on a daily basis from the majority of workers . Great touch breaking the first and last capping pieces instead of just cutting them with the demo saw .
Hey I just wanted to give you a “thank you”! I’m building a sitting wall as I write this and your video helped me out a lot!
That's awesome man! Glad the videos helped, good luck! ✌
Thank you for making this video. It’s very appreciated.
I've just finished a retaining wall and need to cap it. Thank you, this helps.
Glad it helped! ✌
Great Job 👏🏼!!
I’m going to add that to my front porch project.
Thank You 🙏🏼
Nice! ✌

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! ✌
what brand and color are the pavers around the firepit?
Really nice work guys I’m inspired you should wear a musk with the concrete cutter though:)
Thank you! sometimes we slack on the mask, I hear you though. ✌
DAMN THATS BEAUTIFUL MAN
Thank you ✌
Well done 🎉🎉🎉
Keep up the videos! Really appreciate your information.
I certainly will man, thanks for the support! It truly is motivating, I appreciate it.

Beautiful!! I want one!!
It came out really cool. Awesome spot to chill out!
Very nice!!
Thank you ✌🏻
Do you have a video showing how to remove existing caps to replace a bad hardscape light or damaged cap?
I don't, sorry. But all you need to do is get a very flat chisel and hammer and pop it off the block carefully, it will come off if you do it right ✌

Perfecto 👌🙌
It’s a Great Wall ! My issue is I’m changing out the capstone to a smooth Finnished as the old capstone was similar to yours and it was a bit rough
Nice, it’s always nice when you can just replace the cap ✌🏻

I guess you could do it either way, but I typically start at one end and work to the other. Seems to be a good way in my opinion.
I love the curved look, does it cost more to make it curved?
Me too, very sharp looking. And yes, curved is more expensive because of all the caps you need to cut to make them fit right. With a straight wall, you don't need to cut very many caps.
Another awesome project!! By the way what is the best construction adhesive to use for a wall block planter?

Each cap secured with concrete adhesive, how do you remove a cap if you need to?
Unfortunately you have to pop it off with a hammer and chisel if you need to remove it. It creates a very tight bond.
What are those caps called and do they overhang on each side? I have 12” versa lok wall blocks and the caps they gave me are 12” deep so it’s flush on both sides and I hate it.

Did you have to cut the blocks for the wall also or just the cap?
We had to cut the top row of blocks because they are visible from the back.
Wish I could afford that saw
It took me awhile before I could afford it... Hard work pays off though
Love it . nice tips what brand are the block splitter
Thanks, not to sure what the brand of the block splitter is…. Sorry man
ALMI
ALMI Splitter AL17-12. Costs $2041 USD at Pavetool.
Great video. Where did you get that wall splitter?
It is my cousins, he bought it at a local masonry supply store. There are a lot of different manufacturers who make splitters like this one.
Jesus is the answer ❤
What’s the block your using called
(Techo Bloc) (Semma)

Can the guillotine be used for all the cuts?
You could use it for most basic cuts, probably not for curved cuts…. But yes, any concrete block or paver that fits, it will split ✌🏻
you should at least put a mask buddy its for your safety
I hear you man, I slack on it sometimes…
In this video u look so tired, the sun is killing ur skin 🌞🌡
That entire job was completed in very hot temperatures.... Got a very serious tan from that one.🤣✌
