I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
The fact that you exist is inherently important.
The scale of your existence isn't what you're supposed to be looking at. For all we know, the universe could be infinite.
I'd say, the true purpose of anything's existence, is to interact with everything in the universe just like everything else in the universe reacts with everything else. Stars react with planets and other things, humans react with planets and other things... You get it, right?
You privileging your own existence is a defence mechanism, not 'the truth'.
@Tom Kay Not privileging, but appreciating. The way I put it is a nice, generalised, unifying way of looking at our place in existence.
Recognising our existence in an enlightened view can make all the difference in how one experiences it. The fact that we're here at all, amongst everything else that exists, has a genuine reason beyond current knowledge. I just happened to share my view on it.
