I didn't know this was from the creator of Strider after he left Capcom on very very bad terms. Kouichi Yotsui deserves to take on bigger titles as he is an ambitious game designer.
So instead of holding their karate tournament at the local community college, they hold it, inside an active volcano, or all these other surreal locations. Must save on renting the space.

The thing is that if it was "atari", it'd be spoken very quickly as a word, whereas I heard the referee say "Waza-ari" with an "ss" sounding syllable and a vowel extended just long enough. It didn't sound like the sound hardware was so bad that a "tt" syllable would've been garbled by excessive bitcrushing or poor programming.

The backgrounds are awesome, but sadly the characters are all the same except with different colors. Also I was REALLY hoping that you faced that ref in the end. That would have been neat. :) still good job.

This is a really decent karate game! If you like The Way of the Exploding Fist and IK+ you’ll really like this. That crane kick takes me back 😉
