My problem with the cat fight isn't that it's stupid-- because the IDEA is funny. It's also not that the cat dies-- it gets a cool scene to die in and they don't actually show it to you. My problem(s) are 1, that the cat only gets in one real shot that does no damage, and 2, while the spider gets to be an insane cartoon character that riffs on kung-fu flicks, the cat just gets to be a poor, overmatched animal that gets it's ass beat. The ostriches at least make cartoon chicken noises when they get grabbed, they couldn't have given the cat a moment to ALSO be a cartoon and at least get a few more shots in? What if the cat growls and it sounds like Schwarzenegger noises or somethin'? "Rah-yeo-ye-aarr!" I'm just sayin' it woulda been a lot more funny and weirdly kinda badass.
