- We are about to celebrate 50 years of "Waterloo", ABBA’s golden anniversary. There is a massive amount of ABBA on TV, with no less than five brand new documentaries. Even Benny himself is celebrating with us, and is sharing brand new greetings in song. Let’s bring it all together in this video.

What we in Sweden call the "ketchup-effekt" might now be called the "ABBA-effect". Nothing, nothing - and then everything at once! We are drowning in ABBA news, events and documentaries who celebrate them and their impact. FINALLY! Once it was seen as un-cool to love and praise them, now everyone seems to! Good that they are catching up! They deserve all this and more! ❤

Their music has been enjoyed by 3 generations then. Now since the 70's they can add at least another 3 generations to their fans. WELL DONE !! 😊
This is very emotional for me. I knew 50 years ago that I was watching something special but I could never have dreamt that it would be celebrated so magically 50 years later. It’s remarkable

It will be a evening to do nothing but watch BBC2 for me. New documentary is going to be the highlight of the evening with never before seen recordings.
Difficult to keep track of but thanks for keeping us informed BB. I had surgery 5 years ago on Agnetha's birthday April 5, 2019. Also my birthday is May 24 (same as Bob Dylan) which is usually around when the Eurovision Final is. And last of all BB, I think some day you will produce the best ABBA documentary. 🎹 👍
If all four can make an appearance at Eurovision 2024 that would top it all off...fingers crossed!

Wow that's just fantastic what a celebration what a band. I'm lucky enough to be at ABBA Voyage on the evening of the 6th of April it will be my 3rd time I've seen it and it's just amazing.
I'm also going to Sweden for the first time in my life end of May I can't wait I hope I get to see them at the Royal Palace and then onto the ABBA museum.
I've been waiting 50 years to get to Sweden it's a once in a lifetime but I can't be happier . All this fantastic music and voices from the 4 amazing people that have been a great part of my life and others also. That BBC 'So Long" lost version is FIRE.So punchy.It's recorded with the BBC orchestra but the acoustics of lead vocals is 'so live' with a few pre-recorded b,vocals too but Lead Vocals seem totally live and also sound fantastic.Agnetha looks so cool and angelic and Frida has real fun and rocks like a space amazon not to mention that she dances her a@! off,lol.

I just listened to "Highland" by One more time with Marie Rådsten, Nanne and Peter Grönvall, the son of Benny Andersson. What a power song - with a bit of ABBA feeling!
All the celebrations are such a wonderful and deserved thing. ABBA is iconic, ground breaking and just fantastic. I am a huge ABBA fan. However I just want to cry 😢. I live in the U.S. and will not get to share in any of the celebration. No documentaries, no voyage shows, nothing. I understand though. The U.S. didn't really treat them with much respect. I wish them the best and congratulate them on the 50 year anniversary and getting the Royal Order of Vasa.

Today I was able to see the small exhibition of the pictures of ABBA in Lüneburg. The pictures shows them around the contest in Brighton and some private pictures. The highlight was the blue costume of Agnetha, which she wore at the Grand Prix. Very small, but nice.
I'm going to get pastries on April 6. normally always on Agnetha's birthday but April 6 is so special 50 years after Waterloo I am going to celebrate this
You could have cheated this year, and get pastries twice…!
Agnetha's birthday is on April 5 but it all happens at the same time, I wonder if we will see them together on April 6 .

Hi Bobby's Brother. Just to add to the list, BBC4 on Sunday evening 7th April are showing a ten minute celebration of ABBA at Eurovision presented by Hannah Waddingham followed by the full 1974 BBC broadcast of the 1974 Eurovision song contest. From 8pm UK time..

Congratulations to ABBA members for these 50 years. They have given us wonderful music. Yesterday I watched the 1974 Eurovision video several times and listened to a lot of ABBA music all day. I live in Uruguay, and in that year I saw the Eurovision Song Contest in deferred, it was not played live. I remember when I heard Waterloo, I knew that song was going to be the winner because of the music and the voices of Frida and Agnetha. I was very happy when the scores were coming up and Sweden was topping the table. From that moment I fell in love with the music of ABBA, and has accompanied me at all times of my life. I love ABBA deeply.
Thank you BB for the rundown, we certainly will be spoilt right across Europe - and rightly so, looking forward to seeing and hearing all things Waterloo!
Will hopefully make up for having to miss going to Voyage on Saturday 6th due to the UK train strikes making it impossible to get to London grhhh. Maybe Another town,another train in the future.

It's at a time like this when I really wish I didn't live in the ABBA wasteland that is Canada and the USA. Nevertheless, it's wonderful to see the respect and honour ABBA is being shown across the UK and western Europe on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of their Eurovision victory. 🥰

@@frankly-he1kf TWTIA was at least a top 10 hit US wise and a good remainer in the charts there but VV imo didn't make it the way it deserved which was so unfair for such a fantastic recording,tune and lush production.Apart from its astonishing tight vocals it also has a main killer electric guitar riff that many metalheads would have been proud of writting such a thing.

The great ABBA year 2024 will be crowned with an arena tour from 25 oct. to 23 Nov. - "I Le"t the Music Speak" - where the best of Björn & Benny's song treasure will be interpreted. PETER JöBACK (One of the hero of the musical Kristina fran Duvemala) together with Petra Marklund, Tomas Andersson-Wij, Linnea Henriksson and a great band, string and choir!

No, this is not what they want to do. They created the unique concert experience “ABBA Voyage” in London for that reason. They infused their own selfs, to be virtually transported back on stage as digital avatars. They worked on this for 5 years.

well,ABBA,is the accronym of the 4 members of Agnetha,Bjorn,Benny, and Anni Frida.For me it is not complete to see if the other members will not there.Its fantastic if the 2 ladies Agnetha and Frida will seen visually

On the 6th of April, it's very simple as to what I'm going to do. An ABBA fest, starting with listening to the albums in sequence from when I wake up until the various shows being broadcast in the UK. And the re-run of the Contest will turn me back into the 11 year old I was.
It's going to be ABBA-solutely fantastic!
And as usual, it's all quiet on the U.S. side.

i heard abba dont want to work on a big show they make around the group for their big career. not even a intervieuw a short one. i find it verry sad and not nice from the group a little intervieuw why not. i dont think people will agree with me. that is fine. but i love the group their music i always will.
