  • A Russian man, married to a Goryeoin, has moved to South Korea to live with his daughter, who went to Korea for a PhD. A week after moving, his wife died of unexplained causes. Before his grief was over, he faced a practical problem. After the death of his Korean wife, visa issues forced him to return to Russia.

      It's the right of Korea to do as they please. Only countries with primarily Caucasian populations are being forced to take in immigrants so as to dilute their population in order to promote divisiveness, a weak cultural identity, and declining natural intelligence.

    I abruptly lost my husband of 48 years a month ago. This father needs time to grieve and not have to worry about having to leave South Korea at the same time. My husband and I were in South Korea 3 weeks before he died. It is a wonderful country where we had a marvelous time, never guessing that this would be our final trip together. I hope this father can find a way to stay and continue to be there for his daughters. People need time to grieve.

    The man seems to be Circassian-Kabardian, they are native to the Northwest Caucasus (eastern Black Sea region).
    The Circassians, Kabardians and Abazin peoples in the Northwest Caucasus were genøcided by the Russian Empire when they conquered it in the mid-1800s. Half the population were killed and half were exiled, mostly to what is now Turkey and the Levant. The smaller Ubykh and Arshtin peoples were made extinct.
    Today the ethnic Northwest Caucasians make up less than 4% of the population in their own native land. Their capital Sochi has been turned into a resort city in modern Russia, and the Sochi Olympic Stadium was built on top of a Circassian gravesite.

      I don’t get why he didn’t he get a visa after being married to his wife? He should have gotten permanent residency even if he did not get citizenship. This doesn’t make sense to me.

      @@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj > they lived and worked in Russia. Most countries don't have automatic residency for spouse...it takes months, even years.
      With the wife's death, he can't apply for residency. I think South Korea is even stricter than my country, like Japan. So yes, it's not going to be an easy path.

      Korea makes it extremely difficult to get permanant residency and then its "permanent" for only a few years@@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj

    • @lopaisate
      @lopaisate 8 місяців тому

      @@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj if they lived in Russia, he would not have been able to apply for residency in Korea. He would only have been able to do that after moving there and his wife would have to be his sponsor. With her death, his only option for residency at this point is a work visa. In most countries, you must frist have temporary residency for years before being able to get permanent. Then you must have permanent for several years before getting citizenship. Even then, not all work visas allow you to go for permanent residency. He likely cannot get residency through his daughters as they are adults and he is capable of taking care of himself. His daughters probably have citizenship through their mother.

    I don't understand how they could not make a law that if your children have residential rights, you should have them too. In the EU if you have family (children or spouse) in said country, you are allowed to stay. I can't grasp how short sighted and inhumane these lawmakers were when they fixed these laws.

      This is unfortunately wrong. In most EU countries if an adult (18+ yo) child lives in the country, it doesn't give parents any residence rights. It's a huge pain for many of us migrants here, we can't bring our elderly (or not) parents to live with us even if we make millions and can pay for all their needs... Governments are too afraid of older people coming in and draining their wellfare, which is understandable but sad for us. There's a few EU countries that in theory make it possible but even they have very strict requirements that not everyone can meet (for example, you have to be the only child, parent has to have zero children or grandchildren in your home country, parent has to have no spouse, etc).

    • @alifc1082
      @alifc1082 8 місяців тому +2

      Don't be so judgemental, they didn't say he can't stay, it's not clear for how long he's been there already and laws about immigration are not ideal in any country... Maybe in Europe you are referring to EU countries, surely not to immigrants from any country
