Despite my sharing a birthday with Dallas Stoudenmire, who clamors for our admiration & Wild West validation, the truth is he shot & killed an innocent civilian in this gunfight. Had he more of his wits about him, this may have gone down in history as the "Una, Dos, Tres" or the "Ready, Get set, Go!" conflagration. Times were tough then & I'm extremely happy now that they've settled down a bit.

The greatest of these gunfights has to be El Fuego Baca's stand against 80 to 1 odds! I had heard of the fight before, but had no idea how badly outnumbered he was. I would have listed the Second Battle of Adobe Walls.
