Hmm, so annoying when you're coming up on another rider deep into your braking zone, just as you want to turn in. Have had it happen many times, even just at track days. Have thought about maybe turning in earlier, to try and get around the rider, but then you'd end up hitting the apex early, sending you wide on exit. So, like you do in this vid, usually end up turning in later, and squaring off the turn. At least you get a better drive out of the turn, but still end up having to chase down the rider in front again. Any thoughts on this? And as always, another excellent video Marcel. Keep it up!
Thanks for the comment. Always great to hear my vids are informative. I toured the East from May to October in 2018. Maybe ill revisit in 2020/or 21. 😉
What was with the tool boxes on the gp bike seats? I couldn’t really hear the explanation from the guy. Was it something to do with compressing the suspension before going out?
How do you recover mentally from a high speed crash like the lowside at the start of the video? Is it more of getting out on the bike and not letting it build up inside your head?
The reason I asked is because I had a similar off at a track day at around 90kph after I lost the rear on entry that I suspect was some oil that was spilled in a earlier session (from someone that had a sump plug fall out) and on a drying track after rain. It sure took the wind out of my sails confidence wise for the next few track outings
Yea man, but this moto gp bikes are just sick, i mean MArcel got around 200hp on his BMW and Moto GP bike got something around 260hp... + the team got all resources and "never ending" money
God Bolt It's more to do with suspension combined with prototype tires and electronics and a rider the size of a jockey. Top that off with skill built from a young age and you get lap records
Great Video, Marcel.

That was a good race!!!! I get a lot out of your videos as a beginner racer on the pavement. You ever come to the east coast ?

I sware I could smell the MR_12 at the start into the downhill. Great camera angle. Was that Elena Myers with the pass..
36:00, race director, " if that guy in the orange leathers isn't off the track in like, one minute, call security!"
Lol

Is that first turn gnarly or what? Been down there more than any turn
Almost seems like you needed a bit taller gearing. Either way, that's some good racing!
👌
This is fast, but when u realize a fkin Marq Marquez with a Moto GP rocket is doing a 2'03.575 (Lap Record) :'D
keep it up man, don't crash
God Bolt Really puts into perspective how much slower regular bikes are
