The unwritten rule for every Battlefield trailer: When a helicopter is about to crash, it always has to land on a bunch of ground troops for some reason.
Indeed, I think that's just a written rule for helicopter crashes in video game trailers and movies. I can't think of the last helicopter crash that wasn't into a crowd of people!
I agree it's kind of cheap to not create an entire knew map, but its actually smart in a way. A lot of people liked playing in the stadium and where bummed when they took it out. So they took something we liked, made it the main focus and overhauled the entire thing. Pay attention to the clip, they made the entire stadium much more detailed and accessible. Should be a pretty cool indoor, non-vehicle map to play on.
Remember when dice where the goat at making trailers, now they all feel the same and have a helicopter crashing down into some soilders. They are identical really
I personally love these trailers. They're well made, the soundtracks are always ❤️🔥, the synced gunshots pleases my monke brain, and they do what a trailer is supposed to do which is to display all the new content coming into the game. But you're right that they're getting a bit formulaic.

Have they considered making a fun game. Also, I miss when you could identify your enemies and teammates by looking at their uniforms. Now you have to rely on the indicators above their heads.

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat I think was the best game they made other than Bad Company. I wish we could go back and go back to where you can hear the enemy team and talk back.
You can kind of create it in portal actually. Just choose breakthrough and the 2 maps you want to link. If attackers lose, you restart at the 1st map, if defenders lose, you just let the rotation play out

To everyone saying they took 6 months for this next season, there is an explanation for this - Basically S6 was the last update they announced in the past. As the game has started to gain players they decided to continue giving more seasons, so 6 months is not so accurate in my opinion. Also I appreciate them by recognizing the community increase and adding the support back again to the game. I say kudos to them, the game is in the revival stage. It might make its comeback if they keep up like this. Appreciate if they are doing something about it, or we will get games like "skull and bones" and "suicide squad".

if you pick it up and play now theres enough content there at this point but if you play frequently i get the rate of content has been drip feed. I do find the reworks and maps to be good though

I recently went back to Battlefield V. The old one has so much more interest in the maps, scenery and environment. This appears to have been sacrificed in 2042 to increase the number of players.
No, 2042 has extremely unique maps with amazing scenery, for example, exposure, fighting on a mountain that had a landslide, or renewal, half grass half desert, and redacted is unique too
they had to sacrifice a lot for previius gen console players (ps4/xbox one). dev map designer literally said that in his podcast. They had to lower the quality of maps A LOT cuz of that
Personally I would like to see seasons disappear, and just go back to DLC's. Like Battlefield 3, the franchise doesn't benefit from seasons. Remember when you were able to play games because they were fun, hours on end. Now you can't go 5min without unlocking something or your brain starts to hurt because of "lack of content" when we use to play with the same weapons, same maps over and over again for hundreds if not thousands of hours
that's exactly the problem. Marketing gets loads of funds (and gets subcontracted) to make great trailers and do brand deals with MtnDew, while devs are getting fired and we get half baked games.
If you're looking for that "gritty" theme in current Battlefield, its not going to happen. If you have a PC, just get Squad. No frontline women soldiers and no EA politics. Oh and Squad has Galactic Contention which is the Star Wars Battlefront reboot gamers deserve.

@@quad849 come on, they had over 5 months for season 6, two full maps are the least they could have done. The stadium in itself is not a bad thing, it's just extremely cheap to sell it as a full map. If they had two real maps (haven and maybe some clashing biome, such as a jungle map or maybe desert In a More mountainous area) and then, on top of these two maps, revealed the stadium redux as a standalone; that would have been the correct and more community friendly approach. They definitely have the budget and time, two maps were the least thing they could have done to make up for the content drought. PS: they could have also used golf of Oman as a remake, people would have loved that. Instead, we got 1.5 maps.
So every leak was true except for the "two" maps. To be fair, I didn't think they'd add a stealth bomber jet ever since the data mine (I wonder if it will take a gunship role like in BF4?) and I always wondered if they would give us the stadium in hourglass back but calling it a new map just isn't right, as for the TOW, didn't ask for it though it's a nice surprise.
I saw the gameplay video, and I'm honestly happy that the AK-5C comes with an M203 grenade launcher as an attachment, but why do I go to the trouble of putting my left hand on the magazine when firing by default when equipped? I don't understand why the M203 grenade launcher in the portal is held the same way. Just like with the SFAR-M GL, for default firing, just place your left hand on the bottom of the launcher. And just add the M203 grenade launcher to the M16A3 along with the A2 handguard!
DICE dropped the ball with this one... Waited the longest between season 6 & 7 just to get ONE NEW map and the stadium which you ALREADY had ALL the assets for.... You could've gave us TWO NEW maps and added the "Stadium" as a SECRET BONUS map.... 🤦
I dont know why people are so upset and surprised about stadium. We are getting 2 maps for a game we didnt think would go past season 5.. Vote with uour wallet if youre upset, go play MW3/The finals. Well the stadium area is so big that it could be considered to be a map by itself. BUT this doesn't classify as a new map, since the stadium WAS already part of hourglass prior to the map overhaul. I hope they at least remove the sand buried half of the stadium and added something like a buildings surrounding the stadium to make the 2nd "New" map interesting.
I hope they actually remade the inside of the stadium, or it won't play good at all. It will be super annoying. The other map looks sick, but I really think the vehicles will ruin infantry gameplay, once again.
Whoever made bf games up until 2042 needs to make the next game!! Bf was always 50 levels higher than any other shooter game and not sure what happened with bf2042 :(
Im glad to see the stadium come back and be its own map, and only infantry. Easily one of my favorite poi's in the game and now its all spruced up. Can't wait.

Personally I would like to see seasons disappear, and just go back to DLC's. Like Battlefield 3, the franchise doesn't benefit from seasons. Remember when you were able to play games because they were fun, hours on end. Now you can't go 5min without unlocking something or your brain starts to hurt because of "lack of content" when we use to play with the same weapons, same maps over and over again for hundreds if not thousands of hours

that's exactly the problem. Marketing gets loads of funds (and gets subcontracted) to make great trailers and do brand deals with MtnDew, while devs are getting fired and we get half baked games.

If you're looking for that "gritty" theme in current Battlefield, its not going to happen. If you have a PC, just get Squad. No frontline women soldiers and no EA politics. Oh and Squad has Galactic Contention which is the Star Wars Battlefront reboot gamers deserve.

@@FutaCatto2bro…quick google search would show that women do serve on the frontline…since like…2016. There are female rangers, infantry, artillery, etc, so women on the frontlines of a modern-future military shooter is just reality now.

So, a destert city and a stadium, which we already had. Man, these guys really know how to kill the mood.
@@quad849 come on, they had over 5 months for season 6, two full maps are the least they could have done.
The stadium in itself is not a bad thing, it's just extremely cheap to sell it as a full map.
If they had two real maps (haven and maybe some clashing biome, such as a jungle map or maybe desert In a More mountainous area) and then, on top of these two maps, revealed the stadium redux as a standalone; that would have been the correct and more community friendly approach.
They definitely have the budget and time, two maps were the least thing they could have done to make up for the content drought.
PS: they could have also used golf of Oman as a remake, people would have loved that. Instead, we got 1.5 maps.

So every leak was true except for the "two" maps.
To be fair, I didn't think they'd add a stealth bomber jet ever since the data mine (I wonder if it will take a gunship role like in BF4?) and I always wondered if they would give us the stadium in hourglass back but calling it a new map just isn't right, as for the TOW, didn't ask for it though it's a nice surprise.
I imagine more like the BF4 bomber, but maybe without the bunker.

I saw the gameplay video, and I'm honestly happy that the AK-5C comes with an M203 grenade launcher as an attachment, but why do I go to the trouble of putting my left hand on the magazine when firing by default when equipped? I don't understand why the M203 grenade launcher in the portal is held the same way. Just like with the SFAR-M GL, for default firing, just place your left hand on the bottom of the launcher. And just add the M203 grenade launcher to the M16A3 along with the A2 handguard!

Well the stadium area is so big that it could be considered to be a map by itself. BUT this doesn't classify as a new map, since the stadium WAS already part of hourglass prior to the map overhaul.
I hope they at least remove the sand buried half of the stadium and added something like a buildings surrounding the stadium to make the 2nd "New" map interesting.
I hope they actually remade the inside of the stadium, or it won't play good at all. It will be super annoying. The other map looks sick, but I really think the vehicles will ruin infantry gameplay, once again.
