What a good Summertime ballad from this great female vocalist with the unusual deep female voice. She had charisma, talent and beauty. The whole package!
I was just thinking about this song the other day after not hearing it for over 50 years. This and her smash hit "We'll Sing In The Sunshine" brought back so many great memories.
Is she the same Gale Zoe Garnett the writer of novels? We Sang in the Sunshine tune I always said was written by a writer, an author, listen to the lyrics, think about it. BUT if they are not the same rap my knuckles with a ruler. I saw this video of a 4th book ad Toronto
On this day in 1965 {February 3rd} Gale Garnett performed "Lovin' Place" on the ABC-TV weekly program 'Shindig!'... R.I.P. Jimmy O'Neill {Shindig's host; 1940 - 2012}...
She's a physically-lightweight female with two hefty tons of heavy voice, ponderous enough to anchor fix in place a WWII era battleship on whatever coast it decides to take a rest and catch it's breath, in tow to weigh her down into a memorial erstwhile popular vocal presence. Oh Indian princess Dalah of "The Pink Panther" who later on morphed into android Francesca to serenade clumsy Felix in a Carrebean Isle exotic jungle dreamworld to seduce him into becoming her main mechanical squeeze! You've got grave gravity in your sexy singing. Yes you have, Girl!!

Wow! She talks about watching the Passenger trains coming and goin from the stations. Nostalgic and historic from a better time in the U.S.A.

This song and "We'll Sing In The Sunshine," were great songs by Gale Garnett. It's too bad she didn't have more hits!❤
Adorable. I never got a good look at her until now...!
This song makes me feel like singing in the sunshine.
Not walking on sunshine ?
No one else sounds like Gale Garnett. Her voice is incredibly original.

she is very charming
Those beautiful piercing eyes.
Beautiful girl beautiful voice very plain, uneventful song
Her song writing revolves around the theme of 'loss.'
It'as actually pretty good. Similar to Sunshine. Better than other post Sunshine songs she did
she wrote a lot of her own songs...
She was a very pleasant artist.
One of my favorite voices. Not as good as a very few on my list, but still way up there.
A great song! I'm only sorry that she only had 2 hits!
THEY OBVIOUSLY LOOK JUST LIKE BRAM
