Thanks John. I have built several of your tractors and really like them. Another option for field storage of feed is metal trash cans. Readily available, and keeps the rodents out. But - if you are going to use them, you need to add a dab of caulk at the handle to keep the rain out.
I got most my stuff from trash picking lol free metal roof, old fencing I had from an old garden, til of chicken fencing etc. My biggest cost was 2x4s and screws 😁👍🏽
John I'm so glad your back. I started my dream last year after IRMA destroy my home and I have to start over. Thing is I live on disability and right now have a car payment so it is not much BUT I NEVER EVER GIVE UP. I'm excited with your new videos and I'm working on saving for all 3 books. I tried to get them last year but we had a glitch and I never got around to it. BUT AGAIN I bever give up. Im down here in SWFL from Ohio/West By God Virginia so I have Country living in my Soul. Anyway I love your farm and your videos. I'm 57 soon to be 58 and I will have my homestead or die trying. 💯🤩🐤🐣🐥🐓🐔🐑🦒🐿🐇🦇
John, question on an old video...raising pigs in the woods for land clearing....do your pigs encounter mountain laurel? If so how do they do with it? I want to set pigs out to clear my land as well (I'm in Wmass), but do have mountain laurel which I have heard is bad for sheep, goats, cows...not sure about pigs. If you have experience with that I'd love to get your perspective. TIA
Hey John Kevin and Christina. We sat behind you the 1st day of APPPA. We saw you cringe when we said our J.S. Tractors were $360 a piece for cost. You have $160? I'm sure you've manages to cut a few costs here and there, but few questions. We use treated wood, the 1x1 wire (super expensive around here) also the only tarps we found were $36 a piece...we also added the charger, steaks wire and labor to our tractor cost. Not a point of contention. I get the material can be a lot less. Just wondering if those last costs are in your cost?? Thank you and we must say you were so approachable, helpful and part of the community. It was a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of folks we've meet who teeth or have more success than we do...
Will u do a detailed series like this on pigs? I want pigs but afraid of the damage they will do to my ground and also the smell. I love What your doing and plan to purchase your binder.
You can buy Idaho Pasture Pigs. They eat grass and dont destroy the ground. The key to smell control is do not over stock an area, and move them to new ground often.
Good morning Farmer John! How about a little file footage of the things your talking about? I know it's cold outside but you must have something to add to the hairy knuckle whiteboard shots in this series!

April 15 2020. I spent 200$-tarp per tractor and I’m building 2. Great information and inspiration. The book was a great 15$ investment Thanks!! ✌🏻❤️
