He is just so damned good. I've heard every one of his songs a million times, met the man himself many times, been to a ton of his concerts, and yet STILL after all that, I still get that "hair standing on end" feeling from his singing. God I love George Jones. We miss ya' Possum.
KLUNKET I know that feeling about the hair standing! His voice is God's voice itself. It reaches you to your core and stirs you. He puts his heart and essence in every word!
His gorgeous hair, lol. Gorgeous voice. I love knowing he was really saved, really in heaven now. I prayed for him many times. I can't wait to see him.
My uncle, Rufus Edward Gandy AKA Frog used to play this song on his guitar back in the old days. I never got to hear him play. He passed away at age 70. October 10, 1944 - April 7, 2015 His wife tried keeping him away from his family. I really loved him, and he was a very humble man. He was never a big talker. If he said something, you could be sure it was worth hearing. His health began to fail in late 2011. When he died, medical exameters should've done an autopsy on him to figure out what caused his death.
It was done by others but George made this song known as one of the top gospel songs ever. It was co-written by Gordon Artis and Darrell Edwards, one of many great ones Darrell wrote & George sang.
SIMPLY GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the "Bluesiest" country singers ever, good music knows no boundaries .
The Awesome Possum!!! Country Music back when there was country music. I don't even know what to call that garbage on the radio today.
There will never be another "Possum". What a great singer, love listening to Him and Vestal Goodman sing together. Miss Ya George !!!

The voice of Heartbreak sure can sing a song that can fix your heart.
He was in his prime here...just brings it to a song.
Absolutely love the music, don’t have any good music on today’s 📻 stinks
YES I agree
Beautiful old gospel song done so beautifully by George and the Kingsmen quartet.
I had this song on a tape and wore it out. I used to have a friend I sang this with - oh, how we both love George Jones. Who wouldn't?

Those eyes are so piercing! Almost looks like he's looking into the future right back at us watching him all these years later!
One of my favorites.

Very nice!
We need the full video of this performance
This was from a Gospel music variety show in the 70s, this song and Family Bible are likely the only ones taped
What show is this from?
20,083 - 3/27/2018
The other guitar player looks too deadly
He had enough hair for two counties.
