  • Storage of a 35mm film in a certain way...
The 35mm title is stored in two or three parts of 1800 meters. At the next film screening, only the relevant parts must be rewind. In this way, a film can be shown quickly.

Good afternoon, sir, I wanted to ask if it is normal to store film on a polyester base at a temperature of 15C and a humidity of 36-39. Thanks for your great videos!

Also good afternoon back, it is indeed good to keep a film at a low temperature. If there is no other option than 15 degrees is not bad, especially if it is constant. The official recommendation is 18 degrees for black and white film polyester and 2 degrees for acetate base, for color films the recommendation acetate is also 2 degrees to prevent discoloration. The humidity may be normal. The recommendation is a humidity of 35% ± 5%.
So far, I have not come across any discolored polyester films.

@@fp20wesmovie87 I have one film on polyester with red spots, similar to old triacetate or soviet svema. I don't know how they were made, but there were traces of some kind of liquid on the film.

@@denysnikitchenko742 Perhaps a development error in the lab? I have also seen copies that had been frozen, which gave a fascinating image full of orange cables and all kinds of damage in orange.
