It’s not really a balancing thing it just makes it more interesting to watch. In this set for example, mother witch ruins graveyard, so Soudy banned it because he likes to use graveyard, and he played it in the first game because he knew he didn’t have to risk getting hard countered by mother witch. It doesn’t necessarily mean that mother witch is op, or that graveyard is op without it, it just allows players who enjoy a certain archetype to play that archetype with some more safety.
