Mother Earth is the boiler…add the closed-loop piping, and a generator….now you have a power plant. It would great if you could retrofit retiring coal-fired power plants; in my twenties I was a operator apprentice in one. Actually, the coal plants in Colstrip Montana has one of the world’s deep water wells…and it comes out heated.

I thought oil field services companies out of work in 2020 should have been pivoting to geothermal. I reached out to people I knew in the industry, but not in oil field services, but they shrugged. There are vast reservoirs of hot pressurized brine all along the Texas & Mexican Gulf coast with thousands of abandoned oil wells already tapping them.
