The utter irony that the VA for Mace Windu, a character who believes in order and does it all by the book, is the original VA for Kratos who is the complete opposite of Windu
Windu is that type of boss who people who don't know him personally call him reasonable and good, but those who know him personally know he's a hardass and an asshole.
Mace is the embodiment of everything wrong with the old order. Powerful, arrogant and blindly equating 'the will of the council' with 'the will of the force'. He claims the murdered jedi would have listened to the insurgents when he isn't even interested in listening to a peer outside the council like Dooku
I’d say that’s what’s wrong with the newer Star Wars material in general. Trying to make Mace (and the jedi) into as big an asshole possible to justify Anakins turn to evil. Because we know that no reasonable person would do what he did. Same with dooku here.
@@ThisHandleSystemCanGetNicked but it does fit with what we see in the films, Mace tells Qui Gon straight up that he doesn't believe that the sith could be back, he thinks it's impossible that Dooku could have turned because he'd been a Jedi master once, and in ROTS like the rest of the council he sees the alarm bells around Anakin and makes things worse anyway
@@jameshetherington1 What is he supposed to do about Anakin exactly? Give him a free pass? Everything he said and thought about Anakin were true. If Anakin is doing things clearly against the Jedi code, they should obviously call him out. The mistake was letting him in the first place. The second mistake was allowing him to stay.

Even though they didn't know for sure Palpatine was the dark lord they knew he was part of the inner circle. They isolated the most powerful and emotionally unbalanced jedi in the order from his support (Obi Wan) and sent him to spy on his friend, then snubbed him. Despite everything up until that point they failed to do anything about the possibility that Sidious would want the most powerful jedi in history on his side
@@jameshetherington1 Yes that’s again what is known as dumbass writing to force a scenario where Anakin turns to the dark side. If Lucas actually thought it out, I’m sure he could have thought of a more organic scenario where Anakin turns. But that conversation is a good two decades too late now.
I felt Windu was shown like a corporate snitch who is willing to do anything to please his bosses to get a promotion. The end of this episode was so sad, you could see Dooku feeling betrayed and cheated by Windu and it shows how he might be a small part of how dooku and anakin were pushed to the dark side.
I'm glad that they put Mace Windu, Kanan Jarrus and Depa Billaba in tales of Jedi because Ezra Bridger and Jacen Syndulla will be remain of their lineage in the Mandalorian :')
