Finally a quality valve synth that sounds absolutely awesome and is affordable. I have a Knifonium, and it sounds completely different, and is IMHO the best sounding synth ever made. I also a Yamaha CS-80 and many others worth noting, but they are HUGE money to buy. Having said that, I'm thinking there is is no better synth for the money right now by a long shot than the Apparatus. The richness of the sound is lovely to the ears.
hi i was wondering about the connections. is the "pedal"connection an output or is it an input? i would love to be able to run stuff through the filter of this machine. also how extensive is the midi implementation? what exactly can you control with midi? love the no compromise all tube design i think that is where the magic is and you can clearly hear the ghosts in the machine bravo!
Hi! Thanks for the feedback! Synthesizer has Pedal/CV input for Cutoff control. It responds to Pitch Bend (+-2 semitones or +-12 semitones ranges), Modulation Wheel to change amount of modulation by LFO to VCOs (+- 2 semitones for triangle shape and +12 semitones for rectangular and S&H), and Velocity to control envelope scale for VCA and VCF. We can add audio input individually as an option.
Kit is not currently planned. Each synthesizer requires individual tuning and includes many custom components and a large amount of wiring. Perhaps in the future there will be a simpler version
