I have used the Waze voice commands before. The only problem with them is that when you use the ones for Waze, it takes exclusivity over your microphone and make it so you can not use your Google Assistant. I much prefer using my Google Assistant over using the Waze voice commands.
While I use Waze a lot, one advantage Google has is that it tells you what lane you need to be in.
I wish waze would navigate her into a lake. Too annoying

I'm having one problem with Waze in regards to the Red Light Camera alert and Speed Trap alert.
The Speed Trap alert is for school camera's. When i'm driving and a Red Light Camera is approaching, Waze will say out lout a Red Light Camera is approaching. But for the Speed Traps, it doesn't say it out loud. It will only show on the map on your phone that a Speed Trap is approaching. How do i get it where it says out loud that a Speed Trap is approaching, instead of it just showing on the map on your phone.

Several times the Waze choosed the worse and the most narrow streets. Iam still looking for option "fast" or "short" route, as mostly the shortest route is quite slow. Sometimes there are illogical exits from route that I connect several km later. And last think for last year, I need to restart the phone as the voice commands are terribly low (no matter how much is the system "screaming" to me).
I'm sure the least-used app with Waze is the speed-limit warning....
If I get distracted, and didn't pay attention to the last voice command Waze gave me, how do I repeat it? It's the only reason I don't use Waze. Please advise.

Nop. First, what a good start to receive a unlike. Second waze take too much battery popping up bullshit all the time. Hard to understand. You touch the screen to zoom it to fast. Almost no sence of where is my gps location because of the lack of conection.

Problem with Waze is road closures. Doesn’t know when I a motorway has been closed for maintenance etc.
jimmyfly that’s the problem, if nobody has gone that way or not bothered to tag it then it won’t show. Whilst the likes of TomTom, Google and Apple Maps will use the data from many sources including official channels.
jimmyfly I mean the highway agency etc rather than relying on a user to tag it.
jimmyfly google also gets it from the authorities on top of user info.
TomTom and Apple for example use their users and the highway agency’s, TomTom in particular gets all their traffic info from many many sources and doesn’t rely on a user to report a road closed as there is no way to report it. Only thing you can report on TomTom is speed cameras.
I’ve been testing Waze, Google, Apple and TomTom on my commute. Waze fails every morning on the first jam I come across as maybe no Waze users has passed through. TomTom, Google and Apple show the traffic in question.
Waze may not be as widely used here in the UK compared to the USA.
jimmyfly I think you’re right. You have way more traffic over there and a much bigger user base. I always see in America that Waze is extremely good.

I'm a millennial, GenX unfortunately missed me for couple of years, so one day I went out to buy cigarettes and beer, due to my absolute lack of sense of direction, I ended up in Timbuktu. Now I have to wear blue clothing and ride a camel, which is pretty cool, but I miss home. Please send help!

Google naturally sees the potential with Waze 30.000 volunteer map editors who have their "boots on the ground" and can update in real time, here and now, updates on road closures, traffic jams (and Waze calculate the speed in the que to inform other Wazers on the route about a delay in the route), accidents, police razzia, roadworks and so on ...................

I have had a horrible experience using Waze navigation. Yesterday I was directed to the backyard of Walmart in Burbank. Waze is a kind of shit which doesn't work offline. It looks like a bit of colorful video games. It cannot be compared with the Google maps. Google maps is and will be the best forever

Waze is what Lyft recommends (it's more accurate to a point), but it is a PITA to set up for me to schedule a Lyft ride. Also Lyft's own app doesn't default to Waze so you have to jump through hoops to get it to work for you. If I have to sit and think about configuring something I'm not gonna bother. While I am pretty tech savvy, Waze just didn't work like I wanted it to.
Google Maps works for me because it's already there in my Galaxy, and I've used it so much. Plus I don't need yet another app eating up more storage and have another app eat all my RAM.
I'm a boomer and I just glance at the sun or the north star to get my direction. I don't even have tattoos to express who I am or wish to be. Not only that, but I tried this Waze app, but it doesn't include electrical cars and charging stations. Otherwise, I loved it. Easier to follow than the Google thingi. I hope it will include charging stations for the upcoming updates.

You can't pay to turn of ads in Waze, so it was an instant uninstall despite being a vastly superior map app

Aaron Cohen I have never seen a BK ad or any ad. I don't doubt that they use advertising to offset operation costs but they must not have been blatant or obtrusive enough to discourage my usage. The features that were vital were the traffic/road conditions paired with the fairly accurate trip estimation and easy UI for setting up a trip for later in the day while being able to add a stop on the way.
The ads are part of the map and easy to ignore. If you tap a Dunkin donuts or retail store icon, you get the ads. I think it's pretty slick and unobtrusive.
The ads only show if the car is not moving and it is not all the time. (Coming from a Waze map editor) :)

I use Waze with Android Auto. Best nave app out there. It can now be used with the iPhone and Apply Car Play.
Waze works on Apple CarPlay too.

does anyone know how to add a "stop on the way" e.g. gas, food etc for the direction you re moving? I easily can add a stop but many times the app wants me to turn around...when I only want to make a stop moving forward. thoughts?
I've said it before - I'll repeat it here: 1. Alerts; Rarely get them - even when I can clearly see it on the map. Most times what they say is there isn't there. Can you say false sense of security - sure you can.
2. Waze does not tell me what lane I need to be in for an exit on multi-laned highway. GM does and it's very useful when when you got 7 lanes to cross...
3. Route display: Waze's is poor. You see 3 cards with a line below them and then their traffic/construction icons. No way to tell where exactly the traffic is along your route. With GM the map shrinks down and you see 3 different routes color coded for traffic and with an indication if it's 10 minutes slower or 4 minutes slower for routes B and C.
4. Really don't need Waze advertising to me to stop and get a burger at a red light...
Edit: Additional observations...
I just got back from driving from San Diego to Carmel for Tommy Emmanuel's Guitar Camp (with Joe Satriani holding his own camp at the same facility!). So I thought I'd run Waze one way and Google Maps the other way. Sorry to say but I had to stop using Waze! In addition to the above:
5. Does not apparently support multiple stops. So you're driving and say search for "Denny's nearby". It finds it and sets a route for the one you select - and then discards your current route! Just damn forgets it. I mean yes it's in a recents list but it did not add your stop at Denny's as an additional stop!
6. It draws a horrible map! When driving say on I-5 here in California, it'll zoom out which is OK. But the route drawn on the map then gets about 3 times thicker than when you are zoomed in and it looks like crap. Doesn't seem to zoom in properly when a turn is upcoming and if you zoom in to try to fix the too fat for it's own good line it'll just zoom out some time later.
7. I occasionally lose the route if I say stop at 7-11 and take my phone with me.

The only safe way to use this app is to pull over before messing with it. If it would accept voice commands, maybe it would be safe to use. This app has probably caused a lot of accidents.
You set the destination prior to setting off. After which its pretty much automatic.

Maps it's far better than Waze, I've used Waze and there's no comparison, the interface looks so basic compared to maps, I've used in all of my travels and it helped a lot. They've traveled all over the world to give us the outstanding street view, and they update it quite often.
That's why big companies like Tesla have implemented it in theirs hundreds of thousands dollars cars....
Plus we're talking about Google, one of the biggest companies in the world, Waze will never be better than Google, impossible!
And last but certainly not least, it's all free...
For me there's no navigation app better than Google maps, hands down!
Magualo T functions over design. Waze is way ahead of Google. Speedometer, reports, and traffic redirection are some of the things that Waze way better.

Waze was purchased by Google s few years ago. Google is still profiting no matter which app you use.
Isn't it funny.. you shouldn't be playing around with your phone, pushing buttons to alert traffic etc. This app needs way better voice control or someone to explain how to use voice. Don't get me wrong, I use it all the time but I don't go playing with it especially when I'm driving.
i use a scooter to get around and i have to avoid high speed roads such as highways.
I wanna customize my route and pick all different back roads but i would end up making 300 stop points on the waze map just to get to where i need to be.
It would litterally takw me longer to make my route on waze than it would to travel where i need to be. Considering i have already wasted 45 minutes trying to figure all of this out. Its not user friendly by any means also trying to move map around is a pain in the ass.
Not worth it to me until i actually get a car. App is useless to scooter drivers and thats a shame because there are hundreds of thousands of people that actually own scooters.
The waze app if fucking garbage. First day on my new expedite job I was using waze to take me the fedex facility, so I type in the address thinking it will take me location, once I get to my final destination, no where do I see fedex, so I re enter the address to fedex, it’s trying to take me on airport runway next to UPS. So I enter it for a third time, it finally takes me to my destination, but I was timed so I got really lucky waze didn’t screw me over, and caused me maybe to loose my job. Sure for me waze has a few features I like that google maps doesn’t have, like the speed limit on the road you are, and the cops in the vicinity of my directions. But over all waze is terrible. A couple weeks later I had the same load delivery to fedex, and by that time I’ve been using google maps, so I enter the address on google maps, surprise surprise, I enter the address and it was spot on had no problem, ever since I switched to google maps, not once has it screwed me over, always takes me to my correct destination.
Google maps has become total garbage. It constantly locks up and now wants you to double click, nothing about it is intuitive since its last 2 updates. Google Maps is no longer customer-friendly, much like Google itself which considers all humans nothing more than a number.
Insult the potential audience.. check! Try to sell the product and make the viewer integrate it so they are less likely to stop using it.. check! Get kickback from WAZE for the infomercial.... CHECK!
