African drums have evidence of drumming dating back as far as 500 AD. The earliest drums were often made from natural materials such as hollowed-out logs, animal skins, and gourds. Many credit the Mandinka people for creating the drum in West Africa around 1300 B.C.
The Middle Kingdom saw the emergence of rudimentary drums in Egypt, fashioned from the hollows of tree trunks. Around 1750 B.C.E., drums shaped like goblets and pots, covered with skin with the bottom open, were introduced from the Palestinian region.
Another instrument made of clay is the drum, and we find it in China between 4000 and 2000 BC. By 1400 BC bronze and wood drums take over in the archaeological records.

Yes!! We are so grateful after 32 years of work with so many friends from Africa to learn since 1988 when on West and South African event producer teams to unite the top global performers and dancers in shutting down our streets in America to celebrate the One Love with over 100,000 attendees at our festivals. So much love love love....and a shout out to our missed top global West African drum maker and drum shaman, Paulo Mattioli, your retreats in hot springs with over 8 hours of drumming our West African beats really was pure love, even the peacocks danced out of the bushes. Our world will only unite when we follow the West African true communications of drums as it unites all in Many in Body and One In Tribe......we need it so much today!!! The Circles of West African Drums..is pure love!! Missing Paulo!! Keep drumming yall, till we are one beautiful peaceful marble of love!! ua-cam.com/video/V8yCH_d7oZA/v-deo.html

If you want it a lil slower and more chill, like that you can relaxed swing your hips to it and celebrate life, change it to 0,75.
Also when you‘re doing some shaking to this a la Kundalini Meditation, its sometimes easier to start with a slower beat to slowly raise your inner vibration. Once your warmed up you can change to normal speed.
