19:10 I'm thinking that maybe out video host doesn't actually know who "Ralph Nader" is. LOL. For anyone that doesn't know he wrote a very famous book called "Unsafe at Any Speed". in which he wrote that the Corvair (An excellent little rear engined car that was AIR COOLED!). He lied through his dirty little teeth that it was prone to spinning out and rolling over even at very slow speeds. It was NOT true but he was supposed to be a non biased Journalist (Sound familiar??) so people believed him and the Corvairs reputation was so damaged that it went out of production. It was later found out the Nader was taking big money from Ford and possibly other makers to trash Chevy's air cooled success. Sad but a sign of lies and evil to come in the future. (As in right now LOL).
Islip speedway short bed is amazing I’d love to find the long bed, islip speedway also had drags back then too such a great place I never got to see, now it’s all street racing around here
That must’ve been the most loudest stressful trip you ever took not being able to shut your truck off… man I learned my lessons thousands of dollars later onconversion swaps… never again for me😢
if i had gold dust i would put a FE engine back in it.482 or a 511 big inch motor.sorry i hate diesel engines.i worked on trucks for 33 years.hate the smell of diesel
Man there’s no way I’d ever even consider a gas engine in something like that your goin to tow with. Gas engines have there place in a lot of things but not there.
Really great find. I grew up around Islip Speedway, many fond memories about that place. I put one of their bumper stickers on my ‘75 Dent as an homage to the old joint. Marty Himes of the Himes museum in Bay Shore, NY has a ton of great stories about Islip and its sister tracks on LI. Great stuff.
I used to see that Islip Speedway truck driving around Holbrook (Lincoln Ave) all the time….up until about a year or so ago. Glad to see it found the best home possible!
It’d be cool to see a pov of the truck driving with the Allison
Love old ford crew cabs !!!
we do too

My dad used to race at Islip speedway in a 57 ford fairlane called Tabu

you're gonna need a place to display all these cool trucks.

I want a ld ford like them
Make it happen
@@FordEra wish I could. Can't find any and can't afford one
So are you keeping gold dust? At least make it a true ford, and loose all the dodge parts
im definitely keeping her, why does it matter if its a true ford? the title says ford which makes it a true ford?
That short bed sounds as cool as it looks. & that on a trailer behind Gold Dust, what a sight!
It’s definitely a cool combo
Wow. You scored a great piece of history. I think there were some racing firsts that happened at Islip.
I think so too, First track to create the demolition derby for one
Yep…Larry Mendelsohn…I think I saw a Mendelsohn autograph near the glove box

What gauges are you using?
I don't think that truck could have found a better home. Great score my friend!
Thanks 👍
Gas tank seems small?
Add a catch can and drain after crankcase breather hose, lot less smoke.
Thank you
