Awesome dude you make it look easy.
Thank you for watching!
You are an inspiration. I would have never guessed you could get such a nice looking arrowhead out of such a small flake.
totally agree
Very Professional. I only wish I'd have taken up this hobby 40 years ago.
Satisfying process to watch
Thank you, for helping me on my history project
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
its sounds so satisfying. its like asmr
Great skill and precision, even while doing it in front of the camera. Your practice and craftsmanship really shows through. I've never tried to make an arrow head, I'm sure it's not as easy as you make it look :) Happy holidays!
Thank you for teaching&sharing your knowledge 👍 Great video
I had gathered all the copper caps and so much glass to make the copper tools and arrows from the tutorials you've uploaded. But you went MIA! So I never did. Haha.
Got me wanting to give it a shot now again.
That is a beautiful arrow head! I enjoyed learning what you were thinking as you were doing it, thank you.
On top of all that, the rain made you very calming.
Don’t know how I’ve missed this channel! New subscriber
Truly Amazing...you surely have a command of the knapping techniques. That was impressive, using the flakes from a former piece. Keep it going...you are doing GREAT! Much Aloha
This seems like a a great activity to practice during bad weather. Lots of rain here in Camas lately
Wow!!! Nick got the skills!! Dude!! 😸
Nice work
Nice storm goin
It is. The barn was shaking. Nice thunder clap right after I finished knapping. Thank you for watching!
Was literally just thinking of watching a flint knapping vid thanks man
Another awesome quick project. I started teaching myself flint knapping a couple of years ago but find that I sometimes done have the patience. It’s been a long learning process and I’m still far from anything like this.
Good job
I see that you're using a Parallel Oblique Flaking Pattern,
Also... If you sharpen and burnish the tip of your pressure
flaker the chips will pop off a lot cleaner and travel farther
across the face of your piece
Nick , I thought you had shut down your channel when youtube went crazy ? Great to see a semi recent vid from you.
Wish I could do that. Good job Nick!
Thank you for sharing...this is very cool skillwork. Great YT channel.
Nick I have a question. On your copper pressure flaker, do you ever have to sharpen the copper point to get a flake to travel? I notice when I do it if I don't reshape my copper pressure flaker point, I can't get the flakes to travel right. I do this periodically when I am flaking, so I tend to have a file near by me so I can shape the cooper point.
I do resharpen the flaker eventually, but I can usually keep up good flakes if I use the edge of the point of the flaker as it wears down. Once the point is almost fully rounded, I use a hammer to bring it back to shape. I may do a quick video explaining that. Thank you for watching!
Oh my God the arrowhead looks amazing wish I could do that I've always wanted to. However I think with the problems I have with my hands it probably wouldn't work out. I'm so jealous you're so very talented at that.
Nice video
Thank you!
Where do you harvest or get those beautiful stones? , where is it possible to find them? I live in Canada, province of Ontario in the city of Toronto and I have no idea where to look for them, in creeks near the water and what shape are they outside? could you make a video about it? It would be magnificent
Great work!
Thank you!
Nick I wish you happy holidays and an excelente new year. Greetings from Mexico.
Can you do whistle arrow with pinpon ball
I want you to make a video to make Japanese whistle arrow, or "Kaburaya."
Hmmm wow..that was very awesome ....bro i have these two obsidian halve rocks that i would like to carve and etch...i really want to know if i can send them to you...:)
The one of the three flakes you start off showing, is one a Dacite flake? Been trying to find where to harvest some of that rock for knapping
If you're in Oregon you can literally find football sized stones of it on the ground at Glass Buttes near Maddrass.
You're talking about the Flake in the middle right? :)
John Bovee exactly, the other 2 are obsidian
I think Dacite is a bit stronger then obsidian
👏👏👏👌😉ouhhh yeahhh
Hey can you make a obsidian karambit style knife?
Also like your ww2 French nail
Thank you!
