Enjoyed this John, made me check my Leatherman Super tool which has been with me all over the world and come to the rescue on many occasions. Invaluable tools whichever you buy.

      Hi David. Thanks.
If you want a plier-based multitool, Leatherman are very hard to beat. (as long as you put price to one side!)The Quality is superb. and I particularly like the fact they usually incorporate a replaceable wire cut blade on their pliers. But there are so many clones of them available now, some of which are very good, that their prices no doubt limit their sales.

Thank you for this. I've just followed your steps (minus the copper washer), and it has worked great.
The main point of this tool for me is the hex drive. It is good to know I can throw it in my bag now without risking 5 years in prison! It's great in the UK! 🇬🇧
I agree this little tool is not without its problems; possibly the worst scissors ever produced, and no lock on the drive arm, etc. It is handy enough to solve a few problems on the move.

Yes, yes, that's the "engineer" in us. We always have to improve something. I have the same problem. Greetings from Udo.

Exactly! And as with all good projects, following assembly, I have a couple of washers left over Udo.

I know that phenomenon well, I've been told washers breed when they escape from an assembly!
