This happens to me as well every once in a while. Usually it will work for a few swings and then stop. I restart FSX to get it working again. Also, this has happened to me with regular USB cameras in FSX as well...
Do you have any issues with fsx 2020 dropping the swing camera after a couple of swings? After 4-5 swings, fsx 2020 stops recording my swing, iVcam is still running in the background and the video feed is still connected.
What shows up where the video replay is supposed to be? Is it just blank there with no video? Something like that might have happened to me once. I just restarted everything and haven't had a problem since.
Thanks I've got this working, massive help. Quick question, my phone can video in 60fps, but in ivcam/fsx2020 it only offers me 30fps. How do I get it to 60?
In the IVCam app there are kind of 2 different settings menus - one is the gear icon and the other is within the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines). Go to the settings in the hamburger menu and you can change the frame rate to 60 fps. In FSX 2020 make sure the IVcam camera is also set to 60 fps and you should be good to go. Side Note - I just opened the app to get a look for you and noticed that I can now record in up to 240 fps on my phone when before I was limited to 60. So far I’ve only been able to get 120 fps in FSX 2020 but it’s a noticeable improvement at 120fps. Might need to do some more testing and make an updated video!
Thanks for this video. I use this and it works great except for when I go into settings on the ivcam pc app everything is grayed out and I'm not able to adjust fps. Any ideas why all the settings would be grayed out? Thanks
Are you still using the free version? I think this happened to me and it said the free trial was over. I could only use low resolution. I paid the $20 and it unlocked everything again.
Unfortunately it does not save in fsx 2020. If you are logged in to your fsx live account it will ask you if you want to save the swing videos. They are then uploaded and you can see them at performance.foresightsports.com. It’s not ideal.
Yeah, that is unfortunate. One other thing do you notice lag in play when running the cameras and maybe a music app? It is noticeable in game play when grids are up and you are trying to arrow aim.
Am I missing something? I’ve trying to find a way to use my phone as a tracker instead of having to spend thousands of dollars on a launch sensor (which I will do eventually). I followed all the prompts and instructions to download fsx2020, and got to the startup screen and realized I need login info that gets emailed to you “after completion of purchase” which seems to be $3k lol. Am I wrong? Can I not do this without spending $3k?! lol
This is for folks that already own a foresight launch monitor and the fsx software (thousands $$$). This app lets you use your phone for video within that software instead of spending thousands more on high speed usb cameras. It won’t act as a launch monitor to track the golf ball in any way.
Actually yes. You need the GoPro webcam app on your computer and it has to be connected via USB. All the instructions are here: community.gopro.com/s/article/GoPro-Webcam?language=en_US I tried it out and if I remember correctly I couldn't get any better than 30 fps which is why I preferred to use my phone which was wireless and could get 60 fps. It's frustrating that the gopro and iPhone are both capable of 240 fps but when used as a webcam you can't get that. I've been looking for a way but so far this is the best option I've found.
This initially worked for me using IVcam on my PC and iphone. Now all of a sudden whenever I try to open IVcam on the PC an error message pops up that says “Please reinstall IVcam”. Have you had any similar issues with IVcam?
I have not seen that error message before. The only problem I’ve had is that sometimes the video feed disappears from FSX 2020 even though IVCam is still running and I have to restart everything.
Good question. There’s not a nice way to share a video from within the FSX 2020 software. As long as you are logged in your shot data (including videos) are uploaded to performance.foresightsports.com. You could either share your login information with your instructor or you can download the individual videos from there and maybe send in an email. All of the session groupings and ball and club data from each shot is available there. Unfortunately you just get the raw video and can’t slow down or draw lines within the website. It would probably be most beneficial to the instructor if you just shared your login info.
Are there any specilized lighting needs for this setup? Dedicated swing cams usually require the subject to be well lit. This looks great and I will be testing this out tonight with my BLP.
No because it’s only 60fps at best. It’s the real slow-mo cameras at 240fps that need extra lighting usually. This isn’t as good but for the price it’s fantastic.
@@friendly_golfer Thanks for the additional input. I just connected my iphone and PC via the IVCam app to my BLP. The picture looked acceptable for my needs and I will be testing this out later. Thanks again as you have probably saved me a bunch of money!!
Does the iPhone camera ever black out on you?? I have two Swing catalyst Dragon cameras and one or both cameras black out and a certain amount of swings…. This is only for IPhone correct because you have to download the app on the phone as well to get it to work:
Yes it does! Not all the time but every once in a while the camera feed disappears from FSX2020 but I can still see the camera is working fine on my phone and laptop. I usually restart everything a few times. You have to have the app on your phone and your PC.
Is this still working for you? I was recently told that the new FX sofeware doesn't allow it. This is sad because i was going to upgrade my launch monitor to a GC3. I was told the mini would be a better option if i wanted video.
It does still work for me in FSX 2020. FSX Play is the newer simulation software and it does not currently have any camera integration but it could at some point in the future. The GC3 is usually sold with licenses for both so you would just need to switch over to FSX 2020 if you wanted to film your swing. The Eye Mini is setup for cameras with the Uneekor View software but I haven't been able to get it to work with this iPhone app. You would need the Uneekor cameras or some other compatible USB cameras.
Great video - thank you for sharing - i will need to try this for down the line. For head on i think you will need better fps - are there still no other phone apps that allow 120 fps?
Since this video was made they have updated the app to now allow up to 240fps. Unfortunately I have not gotten the 240fps to work with fsx 2020 but 120fps does. I’m not sure if it’s a limitation with fsx 2020 or what but it’s still an improvement!
Awesome. I just got the launch pro. Thank you.
Congrats! I love mine
I’ve tried but no video on FSX. Just blank screen.

@@johnathanrohde2480I haven’t noticed any lag when using cameras but I’m usually not running anything else at the same time.
Hmmm interesting i wouldn’t think the 3060 would struggle. I might bump the graphics down and see what happens.
Thanks for the quick replies.
I just found out that it does save. It saves them in the program files (86) -> foresight experience- > swing videos
Does this work with FSX Pro too?❤
I don’t think fsx pro has camera integration at all.

Can iPhone and iPad be connected over Wifi or wired?
I wasn’t aware until you asked and I looked but you can use both with the iVCam app. I’ve only used WiFi.
Can you send the videos to an instructor? Thanks

Only 2020. Play doesn’t support cameras yet. Hopefully it will in the future…
