All brand new to me. It appears from the explorer there are zero other miners in my rural location. With 10-15 miles. Do I get it that it would be possible to set up your own 'network' by buying 2 or more units with proper placement? Second Q is this true line of sight placement only? Thanks for helping a newbie.
Sorry for the question....if you live in a big city, does that mean you'll just get paid less bc there's more mining units? For example, I live in Chicago...would it be worth investing in this?
Hi. Quick question. I seem to be the only one in my whole city interested in mining Helium. So, here's the question: If I get 2 miner devices and place them optiomally, how much can I earn with my 2 devices and no others around?
Quick question, if you have a 2nd miner outside the green area, and you buy an upgraded antenna to extend range, does it extend the green area or just so they can see each other?
So I've checked the map and saw that in city where I'm located there isn't any miners and then I noticed that there isn't even one of those in the entire country where I live. Will I make money if I bought one?

Hey Jimmy :-) Just subscribed and liked, been following the whole series. I REALLY would like your feedback on something you said in the video. I went and looked closer at Sunny Sangria Hedgehog, and of the 4 witnesses in the green sweet spot that you pointed out, 2 are being scaled back to 0.71, while 2 are not. Additionally, several other witnesses well outside the supposed sweet spot remain at a reward scaling of 1.0. What gives? I just ordered 16 hotspots, and obviously would like to deploy them as optimally as possible. However the reduced reward scaling of some of the devices in Sunny Sangria Hedgehogs sweet spot has me a little confused. Can we have your thoughts on this please?
So I am trying to get a good understanding of the distancing vs pay out. Is it more of an average, meaning if I have one close by and one in the sweet spot, my average goes down vs if I just had one in the sweet spot? I hope I was able to make myself clear.

Is the coverage map immediate? Meaning, can I place my second one somewhere a mile away, set it up and then immediately see if it's in a good spot by pulling up the app? Or is there some amount of time you have to wait to get results?
It takes a good 24-48 hours to get deep in the blockchain. As long as you're not directly near another and there is others within a couple miles of you, you're good.
Ill be the first in my little town. Then 4 miles south there are about 8 or so, then 15 miles north, there is a thousand plus since it's silicon valley. I got 2 rak's coming, and i'll have the other hopefully set up 1.5 miles north from me, and maybe i'll see if i can get another set up in the middle. The buildings are less than 300 meters apart but they would have walls between them. The location is great, but would I end up with degradation of signal
Between this video and the previous one, you’ve presented a lot of good info and answered a number of questions. I still have a few more. 1. I assume you may need to have an Ethernet hub to connect to the hotspot? 2. I assume if you need to mount an antenna for on top of your house, you would need to run a wire down to a Nebra hotspot? 3. My suburban neighborhood is relatively flat, but there are a number of trees around. The closest hotspot is 2 Km away. Looking at the map, there are a number of others connected to it that are further away. So maybe I need the 8db antenna? Or would the rewards be negligible without a possible second hotspot to bridge the gap? 4. If I wanted to buy a second hotspot and place it outside my "sweet spot", like say an extra 5 blocks as the crow flies, would it still be worth it? I’m just about ready to pull the trigger- that closest existing hotspot is pulling down about $5000 a month! Too bad I missed today's deadline for getting it before July. :(
If they can “see” each other, then yes! There are complications such as hills, trees, buildings that could obscure the signal and cause two miners that appear close by to not be able to witness each other’s beacons. Depends greatly on the topology of your area.
Can I manage my devices from another country? I want to install 2 or 3 in Belgium at my family houses but I work in Greece, is that possible to do via the app connected on 4G?
That's insane! Sunny sangria hedgehog made 4.5k last month? Wtf, I'm moving to Kansas. Must be bc you live in the midwest and it's flat. I live in the North East and there's all hills and valleys. Miners are scarce around here (Seymour, Ct) and making 3-500 a month on average. Well done, Jimmy!
I got a fiberglass antenna, 8dbi, the miner is connected to the blockchain I have 2 nearby hotspots and many at a relatively fine distance and it hasn't connected to any other or receive witnesses, not even once.
This is an area where you really have to research yourself. A higher dbi will reach further, but with a narrower beam. If not directed perfectly, the beam might shoot over top of your intended target. Or falling short by being directed into the ground. Lower dbi are shorter range but have a wide spread. There are tools like hotspotrf.com that can help you visualize how various antenna configurations might work in your specific location.
Thanks for your video, my question is after halving of helium on August 1st those people who were mining before August 1st are rewarding the same as before halving or their reward reduced as well?

Or would the rewards be negligible without a possible second hotspot to bridge the gap? 4. If I wanted to buy a second hotspot and place it outside my "sweet spot", like say an extra 5 blocks as the crow flies, would it still be worth it? I’m just about ready to pull the trigger- that closest existing hotspot is pulling down about $5000 a month! Too bad I missed today's deadline for getting it before July. :(
How was your implementation been going?
yo any update on this?
Great video. What app are you using and how are you displaying that hexagon for reference?
Bump
Would profit still be decent if the two miners were outside of the green zone of each other?
I also want to know🤣
If they can “see” each other, then yes! There are complications such as hills, trees, buildings that could obscure the signal and cause two miners that appear close by to not be able to witness each other’s beacons. Depends greatly on the topology of your area.
What's the website you used to show the ideal placement?
Can I manage my devices from another country? I want to install 2 or 3 in Belgium at my family houses but I work in Greece, is that possible to do via the app connected on 4G?
That's insane! Sunny sangria hedgehog made 4.5k last month? Wtf, I'm moving to Kansas.
Must be bc you live in the midwest and it's flat. I live in the North East and there's all hills and valleys. Miners are scarce around here (Seymour, Ct) and making 3-500 a month on average. Well done, Jimmy!
Hi Jimmy, Great Info!
If I have 2-3 Miners, can I add ‘‘em all to one Helium app and manage it all in one app? Thanks 🙏
What the best way to get them placed. In 300 meters it's not easy unless you have some friends in the area
Do I lose more rewards if somebody else puts up a hot spot too close to mine?
u get more
@@marcusyaldo4610 So if i got 1 and there is no one next to me, i dont get anything?
Yes your rewards will degrade
Ahmad Khaled you’ll get some, but nowhere near if you have 2+
I got a fiberglass antenna, 8dbi, the miner is connected to the blockchain I have 2 nearby hotspots and many at a relatively fine distance and it hasn't connected to any other or receive witnesses, not even once.
Great video thank you 😊
Which antenna you suggest? Stock, 5dbi or 8 dbi?
Depends on your terrain.
@@jimmyispromo i live in the middle of a capital city on the 3. Floor
@@foggy00 thank you 😊
So do I get for example Bobcat and put one in my house and let's say my son's house? Is that how I would place them?
If there's not currently a hex in my location, can I still start a new HNT hotspot location and get paid for mining outside of existing hexes?
Thanks for your video, my question is after halving of helium on August 1st those people who were mining before August 1st are rewarding the same as before halving or their reward reduced as well?

Despite the dip in crypto, I still thank you for the level-headed financial advice. I started forex and crypto investment with $4,345 and since following you for few weeks now, I’ve gotten $18,539 in my portfolio.

Should I get it as close as possible or should I be 1 hexagon away
Is the green touching the red getting more rewards or most outer edge of green better?
U shouldnt have two devices in the red.. thats what i got.
