I like his Retro Music Player app as well! Both of these are very well designed and beautiful looking apps, so much so I can't believe they're free and open source.
Your videos are so clean and informative, its obvious they take a ton of effort to make. You are certainly my favourite UA-camr. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Just found your channel. First off It's awesome to see UA-cam creators covering FOSS apps like this! Also DAMN the camera work in this video is sublime. Its wonderful watching all these clean and well done shots!
Sam you are a wizard , everytime im in need of a specific app and boom you upload a video showcasing exactly what i need , i got Seal, Paisa and now with data monitor. you are absolutely amazing.
Worth considering that if users of open source apps paid for them they would have more and better open source apps. They are free as in free to see the source code and free for anyone skilled to customize, but they costs to develop and keep up to date in an ever evolving tech landscape.
Heey, don't know if this will ever get to you, but I'm really enjoying your content. It's amazing to see someone who's enthusiastic and a technophile for both IOS and android + creating apps/and homescreen setups for all of us. Big fan of you man and always wish you the best of luck.
As far as Nearby Sharing considered there are Warp/Wormhole apps that allow you to share files and folders between Windows, Linux and Android devices in both directions.
I'm keeping my GrapheneOS phone lean and mean and mostly use the provided apps. I added a few that I need to check in on my 91 year old Mom who has dementia, GPS track my motorcycle if it's stolen, etc. These only get privileges when running and GrapheneOS doesn't auto start them at reboot. One open source app I use is OSMand - the Open Street Maps offline GPS navigator.
Vivo used to have the feature of "Raise to Answer" back in the Android 5 days. idk if its still there in the newer ROMs but i do miss it cuz i used it a lot
Hi there, with the rise auf RFID/NFC Chips and Cards it would be nice to get an overview which possibilties are the to manage these cards/chips in one place - your smartphone. Maybe a good video idea
i would say KDE connect is best to send and receive files between two android phones i don't know if there one for iPhone but is possible to use it in Linux you can send and receive files between your phone and your pc or laptop that has Linux inside it easy and fast it's an open source applications
your video production quality has really reached another level for everything tech and sorts..maybe others will soon follow your style.. and they should.. Cheers!!!
Instead of nearby sharing you should have added kde connect on your list. It is the best thing to do every possible thing you might want between pc and phone.
I downloaded that Vi Music app on a whim. It's fucking awesome! Thanks so much! I love your free, open source, and not-in-the-app-store apps videos! Absolutely fabulous!
just a note. open source doesn't mean ALL the code is available. they can still include other proprietary binaries. a good example is the linux kernel. the word you are looking for is libre or free.
@@Xiefux that's wrong. MOST of the drivers are optional. A lot of proprietary drivers still gets passed into the source. You can read the Linux-Libre kernel release notes and see what they've fixed.
I use nearby share very much from when you showed it. Thank you. If they can to update the app so can send with the same way from windows to android it will be great.
I have a problem with SEAL when i want to change download direction to my SD CARD it says "thit direction is not supported" so can anyone please help me
I tried to use Artisans on Graphene OS, but I don't have a launcher, and I'm not sure if/ which on to install. Anyone have experience with this combo? thx
You could different brightness as back as S6 from marshmallow on Samsung. Google is always slow to copy samsung. Raise to answer and even raise to call the contact you're seeing is on Samsung phones as back as S3
There is google's beta nearby sharing app in windows that can pair to your android 12/13 easily. I use it daily to send files back and forth across my devices.
Sadly I just realized that using Vimusic, UA-cam Music (opened as web in firefox private mode with zero login+history) somehow able to get my playing history (probably user data too). Opensource apps offer the source code you often don't understand as a common user, but it makes you feel safe because it says an opensource. :D
