The way i see it Jungle is definitely not a tittle track with a purpose of being your catchy radio song but to say HEY WE'RE BACK AND WE ARE HERE TO TAKE OVER! .and they did, they left a huge impression so we're all waiting for what's next

I was really anticipating this reaction. CIX has a lot of potential and I'm very excited of how their future will look like.
The music video is inspired by the DIvina Commedia written by Dante Alighieri, an italian author from 13th century. The novel is divided in 3 parts: Inferno (hell), Purgatorio (purgatory) and Paradiso (paradise). This mv actually refers only to the Inferno part of the novel. The phrase is the introduction to the hell and it's written in a sort of dialect (volgare) from Florence (Dante's city) that is the base for the modern italian. It was a language that was talked by normal people and that everyone could understand because Dante wanted to make everyone able to understand this nove. During the Purgatorio and Paradiso the language becomes more and more difficult until it becomes basically latin. In the video every scene represent a circle of hell and each has different punishment based on the sin and the "legge del contrappasso". As someone who studied a lot the Divina Commedia I really appreciate that they decide this concept but some scenes could have been done better , maybe they could have been more loyal to the real description in the Divina Commedia, but overall I really enjoyed this comeback, definetely one of my favorite in 2020
Also Movie Star had already quotes from the Divine Comedy. At the beginning you can see the writing "Lasciate ogni speanza voi ch'entrate" (abandon all hope, you who enter here) which was the inscription found on the gates of hell in Dante's Inferno

I consider Jungle one of those rare masterpieces of 2020. The instrumental diversity and mv production just absolutely blew me away. It sounds so uniquely different yet it still has that k pop element. Youre right its like very much an experience. I'm so glad I'm a FIX lol

the comeback is based off of dantes divine comedy where hell is divided into 9 circles and they have a whole entire storyline starting from numb.
at the beginning of the MV we find jinyoung being dragged to the second circle of hell where he'll await his judgment to which circle of hell he'll be punished to.
The fifth circle is where hyunsuk is. the wrathful and the sullen. the wrathful fight eachother along the river styx and the sullen float along the surface of the boat which is where hyunsuk is punished for his sins. in the numb storyfilms he was abandoned by his father, leaving him sullen.
The 7th circle is where we find seunghun. its divided into 3 rings and the first one is where people are punished by shooting them with arrows for being violent to people and property. we dont know this but he may be here because he was one of the bullies that tormented yonghee.
The 2nd ring of the 7th circle is where we find yonghee. Its for violence against yourself. the souls who have committed violence against themselves are turned into trees and are tormented by harpies that have the face of women and body of birds. yonghee attempted suicide in the story film but luckily survived. yonghee was being bullied (possibly by seunghun) plus academic pressure and this caused him to try and take his life.
The 8th circle is for the fraudulent and their punishments differ depending on the type of fraud they committed. hypocrites in this circle are forced to wear heavy robes, golden and lined with led. they must endlessly walk like this in a circle and we can find Seunghun here aswell. Yonghee texted his mother right before he jumped off the roof which causes his mother to hit seunghuns mother with her car, killing her. seunghun mourning her death is the hypocrisy since he (allegedly) played a role im yonghees decision to take his own life.
The 9th and final circle of hell is a frozen lake and it, too like dantes vision of hell, is divided into rings of increasingly bad sections with the worst in the center. youre sent here for betraying the trust of someone close and special and Jinyoung is here. In the story films he betrayed yonghee. There are multiple reasons as to why jinyoung may have ended up here.
A) While trying to stop Yonghee from hurting hum self in class, he went too far and instead humiliates him.
B) He didnt care enough that yonghee was hurting already
C) He didnt/couldnt stop yonghee from attempting suicide.
Now youre probably wondering where Byounggon is in all of this and in all reality it isnt very clear. some fix have speculated (based off of the concept film for jungle) hes in the 6th circle where heretics are trapped in flaming tombs.

There was also a hint of the Divine Comedy Inferno in Movie MV, under the opening title there's written "lasciate ogne speranza, voi che entrate.." (Inferno, Canto III, 3rd line).
Here in Italy we have a whole subject dedicated to the Divine Comedy (just in high school)

If you watch all the Numb short films of each member, you'll get to understand it better, for example, Yonghee's S word, since Jungle is based off of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, Yonghee is at the 7th Circle of Hell called Violence (7th Circle is divided into 3 Rings, he's at the 2nd Ring which is The Ring Of Self Harm). You should definitely watch the teasers of Jungle too, it adds more insight to the whole story!

Numb mini films basically show butterfly effect, just this one person actions and decisions changes everyone's life, and how the others members being bystanders were affected by it as well. they're very deep and explicit so if you're not in a good place i recommend to watch the clean versions (official mv is clean). But overall i think you would love and appreciate this concept very much, the lyrics are beautiful and all the 2nd mini album is connected song by song. The victims pov, the bystanders guilt pov, the bullies pov , basically what society have done to the victim
"destroy - regret - guilt - move on" shitty, but a reality of how the real world works.
I'm still amazed by the fact that they based the concept on the Divine Comedy, the video and song are so trippy and creepy, it has all the visual elements I would envision for a hell like space!
Seunghun and ACE's Jun have a similar vibe and voice, that smokey yet piercing voice, I can't explain it! They're both some of my favourite vocalists. I'm also really glad that Seunghun didn't debut with Treasure, he fits the more mature concept waaaayy better.

This is hilarious, I also had a spark with CIX not too long ago. I knew Jinyoung was from Wanna One, and after I watched Treasure Box I saw Seunghun and said "He seems familiar." Then I saw on a profile about him that he was currently in CIX, and I had no clue. Then I found out Byunggon was also in CIX, and now I've been super interested in CIX.

A little explaining: The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, is an Epic poem of 3 parts of the three divisions of the world beyond: -the Inferno(hell),the Purgatorio(purgatory), and the Paradiso(heaven) to make his way back to God.
The first trailer is focused on the gates (entrance) of hell , we can see Bae Jinyoung running through the "Selva oscura" (dark JUNGLE) . This where Dante was lost,this is where the journey through hell starts

"Lasciante ogni speranza, voi ch'entrate" was written in the entrance of the Inferno (hell) which means "leave all hope,you who enters" ."The gates of hell" are an actual monumental sculpture in real life. this the same gates that are in front of Bae Jinyoung
Based on Dante's idea of hell, Hell is structured like an upside down cone, with each descending circle becoming smaller and containing more depraved souls and more intense suffering. Right outside the gates of Hell are those who neither accepted nor rejected God.
On the next trailer,we can say BX is on the 6 Circle In Dante's 'Inferno' the 6th Circle of Hell is reserved for heretics and the horrifying punishment that sinners there have to endure:sinners are trapped in burning tombs,and they suffer ''horrible pain''

next Hyunsuk(water 水)we see those who have been refused entry Hell.They form a river of naked bodies drawn by a banner. By this we think Hyunsuk is laying on Charon's boat. CH is the ferryman who transport dead souls across the river Acheron and into hell
At first, he refuses to ferry Dante, because Dante is a living soul.But he agrees to help when he's told that their journey is ordered by God's will. So he tells Dante to not touch the dead, as he wont be carried across with those souls,but have to arrange another crossing

Next Seunghun (sand 沙)seems to be on the 7 Circle of Hell (Violence)this embodies three levels of souls who have committed acts of brutality.Each soul is assigned to a level of the circle according the kind of violence that was committed while on Earth
On the 3rd section Dante proceed through the forest to where the Third Ring of the Seventh Circle begins, and there he finds a desert of fire-hot sand, where flakes of fire burn and fall down unendingly on those who were violent against God-blasphemers.

Next Yonghee(wood 木)seems hes on the 7th circle as well BUT he's on the 2nd ring.The second section of the Seventh Circle is reserved for those who committed suicide, or Violence Against Self.
Here he sees suicides who have been turned into trees and bushes which are fed upon by harpies, hybrid creatures that have the body of birds (in the trailer you can see ravens) and faces of human woman.

Next is Bae Jinyoung (ice 氷) he's chained up in The 9th Circle of Hell (treachery).Treachery was a frozen landscape and in Dante's vision of Hell, the 9th Circle is divided into rings of increasingly bad sections with the worst being at the center.

Pd, you have to dive deeper into them,their discography is known as PERFECT by kpop stans even if they don't stan, they have 3 minis but they're incredible.Their Japanese releases My New World and Revival and WIN (anime soundtrack) are AMAZING and all their mv's productions are no joke, please, you have to! People often think that they're a senior group because they're THAT good.

i know every stan claims that their idols have the perfect discography, but believe me when i say CIX has one of the best songs and albums in the industry. not just that but the amount of effort they put into production and their music videos is just insane. i really hope you react to numb and check out their other songs as well because these boys surely have much more to offer (like it that way, imagine, bystander, & change me are my favorites!)

Sorry that you felt pressured to watch all microfilms for Numb. You can just watch the mv. I think there'll be FIX explaining the storyline for you in the comment section. In brief, CIX members committed things during Numb era and that makes them suffer in hell in Jungle era now. The hell in Jungle and the whole concept CIX referenced is the divine comedy by Dante. The Hello series, three mini albums so far, reference to Inferno. Everything, started even before CIX's debut (they have some pre-debut films), has hints to the concept and the storyline of CIX, which really surprises me. It's my first time stanning a group that is THIS well-planned. Also, thank you for loving BX and Seunghun. I watched that yg show for them. It hurts my heart seeing them not being loved by the boss of yg ㅠㅠ

Actually the storyline of Jungle refers to Hell as the citation in the very beginning of the mv refers to Dante's 'Divine Comedy'. But your interpretation is interesting to hear.

This album appears as the perfect follow up to their second mini album and 'Numb' which had a storyline involving school pressure / bullying (each b-sides of the album was suposed to tell a story from the point of view of different people ex: Rewind=the bully/ Black Out=the victim etc..) Can't wait for you to react to all of it.
Cix honestly don't feel like rookies at all, I feel like I've listened to their songs for years when they debuted last year. That says a lot about how amazing this group is.
i’m not into cix i’ve listened to their previous title tracks which are good but this... THIS this song is everything i’m so fcking mind blown the video, the choreo and the song itself is a masterpiece i can’t believe this is only their 3rd title track... i think i need to get into them bc i can’t even begin to fathom how good their future title tracks will be and i’m sure their bsides are really good too. this is definitely one of the best songs released this year

this concept was so good and well done! they're geniuses! this era definitely was iconic!
The 5 short films they did in preparation for Numb were extremely impactful. You will need to put an age rating and trigger warning on your video if you do a deep dive on them. It's worth it, they were really good. There is a more censored version but I feel like it removes some of the impact, these themes shouldn't be dulled, in my opinion. Raising awareness for suicide, depression, bullying and mental health is never a bad thing.
Cix is one of my ult groups and when I watched the MV, I found it so beautiful and the vocals were amazing and BX's rap was amazing.
cix is one of the few artists with bsides that SURPASS any of their title tracks, THEIR MUSIC IS SOOOO GOOOD

@@rainb0wpiie the numb MV touches on many mental health issues including depression, unhealthy competition between students at school, bullying etc. That's the reason CIX released a (clean) version of the MV without triggers.
yg really missed the chance of having the all rounder that is seunghun, he is a vocalist, a dancer and a visual. but then again, i’m a more than glad that he debuted in cix instead of treasure, i feel like he wouldn’t be able to shine as much in a group with so many members

I knew you were gonna like this song since you liked Kang Daniel's Magenta. CIX's whole discography is produced by MZMC who also worked on Magenta and imo it's one of the best boygroup discographies. They don't have 1 bad b-side. I suggest you to check out their albums too.

I loved Jungle a lot!One of the best mv and song this year
I was expecting PD's reaction and opinion on this, because when I found it I was like "WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?!". Honestly as a song and MV it has such a character that excels from everything they've put out so far. Also the whole concept is inspired by Dante's "Divine Comedy".
The story films that came out before numb will help you understand the story and message to the song/mv to a great extent none of them go past 2 minutes were done so well with several powerful messages I recommend watching them even if its not before seeing numb
i was a huge silver boys stan and when treasure box happened i was hoping they’d debut but after everything i’m actually really glad seunghun and byounggon decided to leave. i feel like if they stayed they wouldn’t have been able to show their actual talent. cix ended up being one of my top favorite groups they have amazing comebacks/albums truly never disappoint! now if you do react to numb or any of the films HUGE TRIGGER WARNING they speak about sensitive topics including self harm. it’s really interesting i’d recommend unless you don’t want to see anything like that it’s okay but i’m glad you reacted to jungle this era has been so amazing 💛

while u don’t have to watch the pre videos and short films of numb era, you’ll find that if you do, it’s a lot more rewarding when you watch the mv because it follows the storyline. like for example the Rubik’s cube Hyunsuk is seen playing with as he continuously waits for his dad at the bus stop, in the mv u can see him fumble with the cube in mid air symbolizing those exact events in reference to his chapter. the fire around bx in numb mv is also referencing the lighter he has with him all the time, especially during the time he goes to witness yonghee getting jumped by his classmates while he stands and does nothing. (this is also a reference to a b side on their album “bystander”) it’s like little Easter eggs and overall, I think watching the vids just makes the mv and album that more impactful because ur following a storyline

i’m still so glad that yg didn’t pick seunghun to be in treasure, something that always bothered me while watching ygtb was that he was always intimidated by yedam when he was equally as talented and possibly better, but we never got to see that because every single opportunity he had he would always steer clear of yedam. I mean i don’t blame him, yedam’s really talented and had a huge following but i’ve always thought that even if seunghun didn’t win it wouldn’t be because he wasn’t good or as talented but bc of terms of popularity, but even then seunghun still had a pretty solid fandom predebut.
I honestly don’t know if any of that made sense but at least now everyone is happy, they’re super successful and i’m super proud of how far they’ve all come to achieving their dreams 🥺🥺
Seunghun's charm is different. Yang Hyunsuk said it himself than Seunghun is very manly. So I think Byounggon and Seunghun being the tallest and oldest trainees really didn't suit YG's vision of their new BG. Seunghun's voice is more natural (belting technique) than Yedam. But Yedam's confidence on stage is better than Seunghun (back then)
Now, they have a group that compliments their charm, starting with the ever sexC Bae bae. CIX = SEXC
I always had a feeling YG really didn’t want him to debut. It’s almost made me feel like YG doesn’t like him??? And the pressure was too much in YG tbh. Seunghun and Yedam are both very talented it’s just YG favored Yedam so much more it’s so sad.
@@icecreamcloud3372 until now. Although Seunghun is doing great. I still haven't seem him be as vulnerable on stage. Making a connection, an eye contact with the camera. I believe that is what YG has been waiting all these years to happen. You know how Bae Jinyoung or BX pierces you when they look at the camera? I still don't see that with Seunghun. His eyes are mostly dead. He needs to work on that piercing glare.
@@icecreamcloud3372 i just feel seunghun wasn’t confident in himself and he showed it greatly, like he was a great performer even then and got much better now but he couldn’t compare to what YG was looking for while forming Treasure, bc if you look at other YG artists or just Treasure themselves, Seunghun never really fit in to their concept anyway, also BX

i was really excited for this reaction purely because of the visuals of the music video (obviously for the song as well) and i'm glad pd likes the music video!! i'm sorry that people said that you have to watch the teasers in order to understand the numb mv, as the mv is like 95% dancing, the story films can maybe help understand the little elements in the music videos but they definitely arent necessary to watch to understand numb. the story films have quite heavy topics as well so they might be triggering to some! thank you for showing interest in cix!!!

Yeah but there are 5-6 small videos they’re each like 5 minutes max and the storyline makes numb 900 times better, because even the lyrics relates to the stuff they are showcasing in those storyline videos..
CIX is the only group (that I know at least) that has discussed things like high school life and pressure to please everyone, suicidal thoughts and mental illness in general. They got shitton of backlash/hate because they have expressed their feelings about such serious topics.. but I personally think they did a great job
You definitely have to check out NUMB too. I loved it a lot, it has actually a good story in it. I won't say that you'd miss a lot by not checking the films out because the song itself gives you that feeling you'd get in the films, BUT, you should definitely check it out still as it is filmed so beautifully and it adds the thrill for the mv and the story can be kind of confusing but its worth the watch. I think you'd love it a lot too:))

I personally don't think it's absolutely necessary to react to all the trailers for Numb, and you can just react to the MV. Sure, those can add to the storyline but are not needed to enjoy the song and MV. Also, would be great if you listened to the three HELLO EPs on a listening party.

CIX's b-sides always blow me away too. I can't even suggest an album to start with, cause they're all pretty amazing. From this album, the song Rebel is definitely my favorite.
A few months after watching numb, my friend showed me its mini films and they gave me a whole new perspective on what the song was about. It was absolutely mind blowing
I honestly really like their albums since debut, they have 3 mini albums till now and my fav track is "what you wanted" the performance is also really good
we've been waiting f o r e v e r for this comeback but damn was it worth it. it's my favorite of their title tracks, my favorite cb of the year, and the mini album has one of my favorite songs of the year. pure gold.
Numb is really good. Numb is a perfect in-between Movie Star and Jungle. It's catchy, cool but has such depth when you dive into the theme and lyrics.
