This was filmed just before Christmas, and was day two of our four day trip. By day four there was quite a bit of water actually.

Hey Rod - we're in the kamloops area and havent had much luck with ice fishing. Which lakes did you hit?
Where have you tried? Maybe the lake isn't your problem. They all have lots of fish in them if they're on the GoFishBC stocking list. Usually catching fish and being successful has less to do with the lake and more to do with the time of day, weather, lighting, time of winter, where you fish on the lake, the depth, the lure, the action and the experience of the angler. So try adjusting those things before you think your lake is an issue.
Thanks for the video. I always enjoy watching with the kids. I am curious - I have a rod that also has braided line on it for mainline - I find it freezes often; what is your experience with that, and do you do anything to minimize that?
The braided main line that I'm using is called Ice-Tec by PowerPro. It seems to perform pretty well but honestly once it gets down to -5C and below, we almost always fish in the tent otherwise everything would be freezing up outside as soon as it gets wet, including the holes we drill. It's just too much hassle to deal with.
The second day never seems to be as good as the first on the ice, I think the fish remember.
Ain't that the truth! Usually by the time we decide to film, fish have all buggered off.
