A replacement E2 smokebox door is very easy to make if you have spare, or can find cheaply, a Hornby Dowlais loco (search Hornby King George V 0-4-0 to see images of an example). A little filing is needed to fit the ridge on the back into the space on an E2, but they are the same size.
Another request that I have would be a triple header with the Johnson 1P, The SECR H Class, and the Southern M7 pulling as many 4/6 wheel coaches as they could handle

Rapido have produced a British loco that you've not reviewed yet. The 16xx. Available exclusively via Model rail. I would certainly love to see one of those reviewed. Excellent video as always
A daring one: a long doubleheader running over the whole layout with the switches set to drive as much track as possible. And a +1 for reviews of continental locomotives
Rapido locomotives are lovely.. i have 6 Rapido trains locomotives from the north American market., i have 2 c40-8cms , RDC-1, emd F40ph, emd sw1200, and a Montreal Locomotive Works M420..
Looks like you've changed the couplings on the egg vans for kadees or similar? I'd also suggest changing the wheels may help, since the flanges on dapol's are tiny. Wasn't expecting the Met Bo-Bo to run so terribly, since most of Heljan's diesels are good. And of course you're right, 71s are 3rd rail or DC overheads only and the Met Bo-Bo is 4th rail only (but a Met Bo-Bo would be possible to drag the 71, assuming the 71 had its shoes removed and was switched off, or vice versa). I had an interesting thought. How about a train with as many railway specific liveries as possible, but no two from the same railway. Like, a BR engine, an LNER van, a GWR brake, etc. See how many obscure railways you have engines or rolling stock for, and put them all in one weird train.

Right, this is going to be very detailed, but you have - a Stanier 2cyl 2-6-4t on a local, a Duchess on a sleeping car express, and a Princess Royal piloted by a Jubilee on an early morning express. The local is in the station, when the late running sleeping car express passes a signal at danger and runs into the back of the local, just as the double headed early express is passing on the opposite line. The choice of manufacturer is yours. Cheers Bob
Wonderful. Sam I also do hope that one day you could have your inspection glasses hovering deeply over the continental H0 brands (ACME, Brawa, Fleischmann, Liliput, Piko, Roco, Trix/Märklin, etc.); getting those niggles and shenanigans through your process of thorough inspection. It would be most lovely :)
Would love to see a nice HST, two power cars with a suitably long rake of coaches, at least six...probably a conventional request in comparison to some of the stuff you get!
Thank you for finally doing my request I thought you forgot about it because you never read it out. That wheel spin on mallard and the jerkiness of the trucks bumping into each other was entertaining
How about an 0-4-0 challenge? 2 0-4-0s back to back, running in opposite directions, with a couple of wagons in between. Great video as always, keep up the good work.
Ig to explain it (logically, not with the models, that’s probably the gearing), the A4 is only a 3-cylindered loco compared to the Duchess, which has 4 cylinders; and since the LMS mainlines were more twisted and steep than the LNER’s comparatively flatter mainlines, the A4’s had the optimum chance of obtaining the steam speed record compared to the Duchesses, even when the Duchesses were stronger. Edit: Also the driving wheels on the Duchess are slightly larger at 6 ft. 9 inches (nice) compared to the A4’s 6 ft. 8 inches
Sam Yesterday I went down town to see the Up Big Boy . I'm very impressed the Locomotive is 85 ft long( 26 m) and with tender it is 132 ft (40.234 m) Wheel arrangement of 4 8 8 4 ad the tender has 12 wheels. So Sam do you have a Big Boy to run?
The bloopers at the end made me laugh out loud. However.... Sam has suffered no end of railway disasters. Yet, enough about things going wrong, I don't want him to end up hating me. This is a story about the young man getting scared. We all get scared of something sometimes. He hasn't yet done so in reality, but Sam decided to buy a pair of unpainted 4-plank wagons from Dapol. (Not the ebay bit like I've done.) Placing them on the inside track, he attached a light grey LNER Guard's Van at one end and his Ghost Peckett steamy at the other. He jumped back in shock. What had he gone and done? The answer? "YIKES!" he shrieked, terrified out of his wits. "I've created the one thing I'm scared of: a ghost train!" It was true, he had. There was no way out of it. To make matters worse, he walked backwards and pressed himself against the light switch. The loft was plunged into semi-darkness! Oh no! He watched the ghost train running along the track, white as a sheet. Typical. "I wish it was just a dream!" wailed Sam, having realised it was too real. He switched the lights back on, only to have the bulbs explode on him. Not what he had in mind. He switched everything off and fled down the ladder. The Ghost Train was there inside his mind.

Awesome video today Sam beautiful request and I am so happy to be a subscriber
Hey sam I found some very old hornby coaches
Hey sam I got some new trains for my birthday just now getting back into the hobby any suggestions?
14:08 Yes, Yes It Was
Sam if a subscriber sent you a model steam engine powered by a small air compressor pushing the pistons would you use it
It would obviously still use track power
That sounds fascinating - do you think that'd be possible?!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains i know someone who could be able to do it
Maybe you should try your hand with the heljan tango in salvage or scrap
haha good idea... don't think there's any salvaging that though! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
The Tango should be tossed off the cliffs of Dover into the sea. Be sure to film that!
i would like the D16 (of your choice) pulling 4 Pullman coaches
Sounds awesome! I'll be taking more requests on the next series! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hey Sam, I have never made a request before, but do you think you can double head the B12 with Woolwinder the A1, or run the N7 on a rail tour train.
I'll be taking requests via superchat during the next series, thanks so much! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Alright. 👍
I'm surprised that rail car let you attach so much rolling stock. Against fitter's orders you know.
haha I agree - no doubt I'll get some serious letters about that one!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
