Yet another great demo, gearmanndude. Thanks for giving each one a good amount of tweaking. I own an AC, but after watching this, I want the other two as well. I love how the RC fattens up that clean tone, and I love how the BB just sounds juicy with distortion. The AC sounds kinda boxy compared to the others. Oh well. I still love mine. Jaguar amps RULE.
AC BOOSTER - sounds move overdrive like, sounds warmer and midy'ier RC BOOSTER - sounds like a clean/treble boost, very nice transparent sound to it BB PREAMP - sounds more distortion like, with tighter bass and sharper sound overall ***like always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay.*** ALL the pedals sound great!
booster pedal: gives you more volume overdrive: gives you overdrive by boosting your volume, you can make the amplifier go into overdrive, but that depends on the amp settings. with an overdrive pedal, you get the overdrive from the pedal itself. off course most overdrive pedals have a volume knob that also gives you more volume if you want, so you can use an OD pedal with the gain/overdrive knob really low and the volume knob high enough to make it work like a booster pedal
Wow, you got the gear...may be time for a clean boost shootout...RC Boost vs SuperChili for sure...maybe a Flying Dragon if you have one lying around that you haven't shown off yet. I'm gonna get a boost soon, SuperChili probably...simple and effective.
Apparently these pedals aren't completely different. They say each version just has a few alterations, but if you take them away you'd essentially have the same pedal.
Question. I have the Fulltone OCD, if I wanted a 2nd OD pedal, which one of these should I get? My OCD pedal is coming in the mail any day now and I'm planning on using it for a heavier sound, and I would like a 2nd OD pedal for a brighter sound. I'm gonna say BB is now kinda out of the question, but yea RC or AC? unless you can back up getting the BB, that'd also be great.
I'd like to hear some demos of these pedals for high gain!!!! Since they are transparent and not too gainy(AC), they work well over a Marshall JCM 800 or plexi for example! Why does no one do any high gain samples of these! They rock! Tired of just hjearing rock and blues with these things. The AC works better than a tube screamer for high gain! Good stuff though bro.
i had the AC. At the time i got it i didnt really like the others tone but after playing with it for a few years i disliked it more and more because it really didnt give a boost or anything. I should have went with the bb preamp its more versatile and plus it stands for Bluesbreaker preamp like Clapton! Anyways I got an OCD about a year ago or less and I love that thing it can do anything
I'm looking at getting a JHS double barrel overdrive + JHS pulp-n-peel compressor and I would love to get an RC booster to be able to beef up the lows and smooth out the highs, even more so than a compressor could. Anyone have thoughts? Do I need compression, RC boost, and overdrive?
The older snakeskins seem to have the more vintage, "marking" outsole. as opposed to the more modern -but sterile- non-marking outsole. not to be confused with non- master volume v master vol. apples and oranges, man!

@SLWing Rc= clean boost, AC - tubescreamer type overdrive, BB a higher gain pedal. Personally, I'd probably go with just the RC and BB.
I have the BB Preamp and was considering the RC and AC. Thanks for posting up the video.
bought the bb today. life just suddenly got better...
i still say it doesnt matter who he is, he's an awesome musician, a rich bastard, does great gear reviews and is hilarious!
i'm leaning towards the grittier sound of the BB. i'm getting this one.

You the man Jack Black, i have the BB and it's the most transparant pedal out there,.
awesome demo yet again. The only thing that bothers me is the audio. The high end distorts like hell. But othervice totally kick ass!

I really dig the RC booster, it's on the "pedals-to-get" list FO' SHO'!!!
Really dig your videos, very helpful.

AWESOME! I was the one who suggested these!
Or did you just not read it and come up with it on your own ;)

The BB and the AC sound very similar to me. The RC sounds fuzzy.

just back off the gain, raise the treble and volume on the BB and you have the AC.
Dude , wich one would work better with a fender amp?
@pcollenYT the snakeskin boots have a smoother midrange
please man, buy one shure sm 57 and one good sound board to make this demos
anyone knows how it's like for AC going with RC?
i have an AC and wanna know how they work together
the AC is too loud and gainy to be called a "Tubescreamer" type pedal, as some people here have mentioned.
What is that opening somg??
wait... aren't you using a gibson SG in the video? you even say you are... why in the description and video name do you have a tele?
"Here's the sound without the white coily cable...and now with the white coily cable"
you show the rc boost too little love
RC with the AC. PLS!
He tends to just cycle the knobs to show the range, without showing the pedals sweet spots...
Hey different boots
rc is mean to be play clean stuff..
Please set the RC Booster to a decent setting; you make it sound like poo when it's a fabulous pedal.
is he jack black? xD
they all sound buzzy to my ears
8:13 = jizz
LOL, this guy always seem to get the worst sound out of the greatest gear.
the rc sounds crap
