The more time passes, The more I am convinced that USC’s decision on leaving the PAC-12 was based on not having to play Utah.
They’re leaving the pac 12 so they can duck Utah.
They're not going to have a better chance to go unbeaten in their new conference. But now the B10 can more easily weasel into basic cable systems coast to coast. It's why they added Rutgers and Maryland back in the day.
Yet now has to play even better teams than Utah like Osu Penn and Michigan
Stay in PAC 12 or move to mount west usc. You can't cut it in big 10

Utah in recent years has loved to show you a game that at the end of, you can't help but respect and appreciate their program. What a great performance
Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama were the four best teams in college football last season, and they're also the four best teams in college football this season. Unfortunately, because the committee tries to give everybody a trophy, you know that either Washington, Oklahoma, or Florida State will steal a spot from a better team.

Alabama didn't/hasn't done that. Being a 2nd-half team may be fun to watch, but not when that same committee thinks it won't be sustainable.
How about Bryson Barnes? Accurate and decisive throughout the evening. He made one major mistake with the pick six but he made up for it and led Utah to victory. What a game.
If Bryson Barnes made three plays like that and won the game at USC, he would be the Heisman winner. But he could make that play and win the game at All 12 games at Utah and he would never win it.
Yeah he played really well. Made the plays when it counted. (Execpt for that 1 INT). Still well done. It was so bizzare to see him playing about as well as Caleb Williams, but despite that the announcers wouldn't hype up anything he did even close to the degree they would whenever Caleb Williams did so much as breathe.
We all know why they don't talk about him in the Heisman voting. God Bless

Whittingham had a timeout to spare to line it up. Riley lost by two with two failed 2 point conversions. Whittingham > Riley and it’s not even a debate anymore.

As someone who’s a relatively casual college football fan with no real favorite team, a circumstantial and very soft roughing the passer call led to a field goal as time ran out. Pretty far from owning them.

USC was pretty much already cooked. The main touts had them eliminated going into the weekend. At least, they said that at that point USC had kind of shown that they are not a title contending team. It was just a matter of the season playing out.

I mean there is a lot he can improve on, like that interception play, WTH kind of play is that? All 3 receivers on that side ran the exact same route making it 3 receivers and 3 defenders at the same spot, who allowed that to be approved? And his defense was pretty decent except for the play Caleb Williams ran that last touchdown, why was there a huge gap on the line, they just ran it easy everybody got blocked because everyone was playing cover or zone in the back while two lineman try to contain 6 oline men, but at least Caleb didn't get a passing TD tho is good, that dudes mouth talks so much

Utah are such a commendable program. Always seem to be competing at the top of the PAC 12 despite not recruiting anywhere near the likes of Oregon, Washington & USC. Kyle Whittingham doesn't get near enough recognition for what he has built in Salt Lake City.

My understanding even before this game was that there were already whispers that he would shut things down not long after the team had no chance of making the playoff and he had no chance to repeat as a Heisman winner. He may not be playing anymore by the time the regular season ends.
Then he can focus on demanding an ownership stake as a condition of being drafted in the NFL and end up having the chance to tell Shadour Sanders what to expect when you go undrafted for seven rounds.

IDK if anyone will really pass him on the QB draft list, but I think the talk about him being the next Mahomes or some sort of generational talent is going to cool significantly.

As an Oregon fan, I can admit that wittingham is the best coach in the pac 12 currently, and for sure one of the best in the nation. To see how he's developed a team without its star qb and still pulls off wins is incredible. I can't wait for next weekends matchup with Oregon.

I felt that two teams were putting up a battle against each other to see who is gonna finish strong and only the strong survive. Utah really put up a fight against USC. Also, Caleb Williams had a great performance as he try to help his team win. Then again, Zachariah Branch had a 61-yard punt return gave USC a spark to allow Caleb Williams scored on a quarterback draw play. At the end, Utah kicker Cole Becker hit the game-winning field goal to beat USC. Go Utes!!!

Oklahoma is a top 10 team and undefeated. Sure hurt when Lincoln Riley left and Caleb left, but things are looking up for OU.

This is what happens when you bring Big 12 football to the Pac 12 (Defense? Who needs defense?). We knew that D would cost USC a shot at the CFP (and you could see it on Caleb Williams' face as that FG went through). Great on Utah's QB for getting them in position to win it.

Furthermore more teams than Utah have a defense in the PAC this year - Oregon, Washington, Oregon State, Washington State etc....

Seems like I’m saying this again: Caleb Williams once again has shown that he is not a winner, his Heisman was a joke, and that his NFL prospects are not what the media says they are.
He STILL hasn’t won a single game against a top-15 opponent, won a playoff berth, or won a conference championship. If you want to show that you’re a quarterback to be taken seriously, you have to actually win when it matters, not pad stats against weak teams and fold against anyone decent. Also, the “oh but he has no defense” argument is overblown and overused. The great ones have won even when the other half of the team isn’t up to scratch
