As for why this game exists, this was originally a tie in for an animated series based on Aliens, which was gonna be produced by Fox, which never got past the pre-production phase. In addition to this game, Operation Aliens was also gonna be tied to the Kenner action figures that came out in 1992.
When I was a kid I only had a few of these games. I had Space Fight, Jordan vs. Bird and a double ender with Bo Jackson Baseball on one end and Bo Jackson Football on the other end. I played them all the time but I would see all of these in the stores as a kid and wonder what these other games were like, never got but just the few we could afford. Thanks for these videos. Now I can see what I missed!
Well now, here's something I certainly never expected to see. A Tiger LCD game based on a toy-line, derived from a proposed Cartoon Series - that was technically never produced - because someone soon realized: "oh wait, maybe a kids show based on an R-Rated film will upset parents". Either way - despite the show's cancellation - the associated toys still happened, and apparently this game too. While the weapon diversity is rather impressive, I still wish Tiger found some manner of including the most-iconic "Power Loader".
The 90s were definitely a whack time for some licenses. That's for sure. I remember some friends having Terminator 2 toys and apparently Demolition Man had a line as well. When I bought a set of Ren & Stimpy DVDs there was a warning about not being for children on it lol I don't if this one was ever sold at retail. I've seen some things saying it wasn't actually officially released. That could be true. The emulation on this one is pretty rough and I feel like there's a programming issue with the Aliens spit, but it may have also just been designed that way. One egregious error though is that the energy and weapon labels are on the wrong sides of the screen. So who knows. As a LCD game, this is easily one of the better ones, and yea there is some good weapon diversity. It would be nice if there was a beep associated with running out of special weapon ammo though. I would always lose track of when I had to go back to the basic weapon. The Power Loader would have tied everything together like the Speeder Bike showing up at the end of the Battletoads LCD game.
I'm not sure. I've found lists of the ones they've made, but there weren't any years with the names. There were some evolutions in their design over the years too.
@GettingYourNerdOn It's probably the best handheld Tiger ever made. It's like a hectic Space Invaders/Galaga type game where you have to switch which weapon you shoot depending on the enemy type.
Alien ALIENS ALIEN 3 ALIEN 3 : THE GUN ( love it) ALIEN RESSURECTION PROMETHEUS ALIEN COVENANT ( NOW COMES) ALIEN ROMULUS.....Can't wait to see it . Good times.
What was the last Tiger Electronics handheld game released?
I'm not sure. I've found lists of the ones they've made, but there weren't any years with the names. There were some evolutions in their design over the years too.
Looks like a reskin of the Tiger Terminator 1 handheld with crappier sound effects.
Not a reskin, but I do see the similarities. The Terminator LCD game looks legit. I'll have to dig it up.

Is there an emulator for this?!
I play these games in MAME and then record them using OBS. Feel free to send me an email if you need help setting anything up.
