i think they'll throw in things that wouldn't necessarily be romantasy for us but might be on technicalities. Like, The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo or Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune.
I feel like those will definitely be nominated but probably in fantasy. Fantasy feels a little lackluster this year, so I imagine Leigh takes it again.
See I thought about that one, but wasn't sure about the rules regarding it due to it being originally published in 2023. I don't know if they'll take the traditional publication date or the original one?
Eeee!!! I love this content. Also, congrats on 5K! 🥳🥳 I'm reading When the Moon Hatched in November. I hope I like it. Oh no! Bride! I've heard horrible things about that book. 🤣 I have had heard good things about Bloodguard. I would say The Spellshop out of the cozies as well. I want to read Heartless Hunter! Charlie Holmberg is an author I've enjoyed in the past. I hope she makes the list. I'm glad for the Romantasy category as I know so much less about all of these than I do "regular" fantasy books.
I definitely would love to see Heartless Hunter, A Fate Inked in Blood, and Nisha J Tuli’s book up there. They were all so good and for me the hype is well deserved. I can’t wait to see what the nominees end up being.
The Crimson moth (or heartless hunter as it's apparently called in the US) is honestly very high on my list. I hope it gets a good spot whatever that be on the Romantasy or the YA list.
My money is on Bride winning this category, and the Familiar winning fantasy. No idea about the other categories, Emily Henry or Abby Jimenez will probably win romance though
Can't believe it's this time of year already and you made me realize I have been slacking on reading romantasy this year but so many of these are on my tbr 😂🏆
I am not a normal Romantasy reader but I attempted to challenge myself this year to read two books in (MOST) categories that have a chance to win so I can vote. I read Apprentices to the Villian, Phantasma and The Games Gods Play, so hoping 2 of those 3 make it 😂
I can tell that Romantasy books are just not on my radar. I recognize hardly any of these. But I trust you that they are big because I know that this is one of your niches.
With so many romantasies getting picked up by traditional publishers lately, I'm really curious how that affects the decision to include them or not. If Quicksilver doesn't make the list this year, maybe it'll be included next year with the Decembe pub date?
Yeah, I have no idea! It’s why I didn’t put Spark of the Everflame on the list because it was first published last year but if they go by the traditional date, it’ll definitely be in here!
I read the arc of Still the Sun and it is NOT romance. The romance is almost non-existent, it is heavy fantasy/mystery. So it would be insane if it was in Romantasy this year.

I would love to see phantasma! I absolutely loved this one and the OCD rep was amazing !
I think a lot of this will make it for sure, but I do think Spark of the Everflame might stand a chance too!

I still have so many of these of my TBR 💛💛

Thank you! I’ll be reading when the moon hatched in November as well! It officially made my Kerplunk TBR

Isn’t Heartless Hunter YA? Not sure if they are going to put YA romantasy here or not but I loved the book
I am proud of myself for recognizing a lot of these titles ☺🏆

I think this will easily rank top 5.

Can’t wait to see where they put the cozy fantasy, they could just as easily go into fantasy
We’ll never know what Goodreads will do! But one thing we do know is Emily Henry will probably win romance 😂

I know same! I thought I read a bunch this year, but apparently it wasn't the popular ones!
I still need to read quicksilver
💛💛💛
Ooh we were pretty on track with our guesses! I totally forgot about five broken blades I guess I assumed that was fantasy!
@@rainybluereads that one I think could go either way? But with it being Red Tower I just assume romantasy 😂
I may have to check out that one that's comped to PJO 😅 🏆
I thought you’d like that 😂
@FourPawsandaBook I almost grabbed when I was at the bookstore 😅

fingers crossed! I would be shocked if at least ONE isn't there!
This video made me realize how many of these are on my shelves unread at the moment 🙈
honestly same... I've got my work cut out for me

I’m already torn between Quicksilver and WTMH for my vote
