I totally agree that the cost of getting neutrons is too high. I spend on offered balls that look like ones I’d use but I was hoping that I could trade in my unused balls for something valuable without having to spend more $. I don’t see myself ever having full collections so therefore being able to advance balls through prestige levels to get neurons is pointless to me. It’s nice to see all the balls I have on the album page but it would also be nice to be able to click on a ball on the collection page and see it’s attributes as I don’t remember. Having to go back and forth to my ball inventory to see whether I want to trade a ball is annoying enough for me not to engage. Thank you for video.
Tommy, First of all, thank you for taking the time to make this video explaining this complex" feature" that has been added to GC. This is a video our newer clan members can watch to introduce them to this feature. They will then have a basic understanding of the ball album which will make it much easier for me to explain the intricacies of this feature to them. After having thought about this addition to the game for several months I have come to the conclusion that the ball album is EVIL. It is a subtle way for EA/PD to increase revenues. The reason I refer to it as "evil" is that players can blindly go on a quest for "Neutron" balls not realizing what the true cost of this ball is. They may give balls back to the game that on average cost 50 cents (USD) each to initially acquire. Doing some rough calculations I have determined the Neutron ball can cost as much as $5 each, or 1,000 times the cost of a normal paid ball. A quote from Neil Peart in a favorite Rush song applies here, "They will pay the price, but they will not count the cost." In my case, I have been able to dump hundreds of balls I purchased during the first 2 years of playing this game - when I did not understand how to determine the actual value of a ball. I'm embarrassed to say that my main character owns 245 Neutron balls. But, I was able to exchange hundreds of balls (example - I had 520 Spartan balls) that I would never use for Neutrons. I agree with you that the purchase of "Generation" chests is not advisable. IF they had designed it where you would receive missing (greyed out) balls FIRST, it would be worth risk. However, the supposed "random" chance of obtaining balls missing from a Generation is designed to entice a player to spend $10 per pull on the lever just like in a casino. I tried 4 times early on to get missing balls in one of my Generations and received NONE. I quickly realized that the "randomness" was equivalent to the supposed random chance in emptying tees and hole explosions. Those tees/explosions DEFINITELY are definitely NOT random. There it's designed to entice you to spend gems to refill the "bullets" even before the cylinder is empty. Again, thank you for making this video. Loren
I gambled twice to get the Easter ball , the only ball I was missing from that generation,, there's a Crescent ball in Generation 5 I don't have, don't even remember it being available, gambled twice with no luck 😢
Thanks for the analysis - such a difficult and confusing aspect of the game with very little information explaining it. I like your strategy, so many players probably gave back hundreds or even a thousand balls for worthless tokens and no chance of getting to the next tier. Thanks again.

Excellent analysis, Tommy - thank you for the video. 4-4-4 balls were released very frequently in 2022 and were very popular. They have been missing this year (not sure when the last one was released!). I'm wondering if they are holding back and will continue to hold back in order to push people to invest in generation chests in the hope of getting neutron balls (with precision level 4 added as a bonus). If so, I'm curious to see whether the strategy will work. I spend a fair bit on balls but like you, the randomness of the generation chest puts me off.
Being a mostly a tour player, my strategy has been to limit the number of types of balls to make it easier to find the one I want. So I am very selective about which ones I do purchase and any balls I receive from challenges, chests, gifts etc. I get rid of as fast as I can. This could add to the complexity for tour players.
Loved the new feature. Traded in thousands of old useless balls and was awarded 660 Neutron Balls so far. They've been very useful in Tour 12 play and occasional shots in Master tourney play.
I was just playing the CPC. Played 3 games and all of a sudden, I just received 5 Neutrons. I have no idea why so I thought, I would turn to Tommy and maybe this will explain it.
Nice explanation tommy! But in point of view this ball collection album doesn’t aggregate anything on the game 😢 it is only to put our 💰 inside the rubbish …
First, like you said, it's just another money-making gimmick. Second PD and EA seriously need to work on having a million times better servers before they worry about money or the graphics. EA Sports has some of the worst severs ever and also don't care about their customers. PD chose to go with the worst partner ever when they did this is my opinion. Mind you, this is all my personal opinion, but some of it is actually facts.
Just another Playdemic money grab. how about they do something about fixing the game glitches? 2 of the last 6 tournaments I have had issues. Always my fault or my wifi of course.
This feature was poorly thought out, poorly implemented and poorly explained by Playdemic. I do appreciate the video though Tommy! Maybe it’ll save some people from permanently losing balls from misunderstanding the feature.

I'd be a bit more excited about the Neutron ball if it was a P3, S4, W5, Prc5 ball! (And needle OP 3)
