...By the way, those Barrel Tips look like a two-toned version of the Dunu S&S tips(which also now have a clear version). I'm assuming they saw some flaws or rooms for improvement with the S&S tips and decided to capitalize on it(I guess, similar to how Divinus made their own "improved" version of the Radius DeepMount ear-tips), considering that there are not many brands utilizing this shape of ear-tips, a yet unsaturated space with room for competition.
I'm willing to bet 7Hz will also eventually be releasing this as a stand-alone product, similar to what Dunu did with the S&S tips.
It's actually smart strategy. Instead of having to make large batches not knowing if it'll sell, why not make small batches first, include it as accessory with the latest IEM releases, and then just wait for market feedback; the customers also serving as beta testers.
compared to 7hz timeless, do you prefer this one over the timeless?

Weird bass hump then roll off under 40hz, not the worse thing but is that just due to the measurement rig seal or does it really just roll off that aggressively? I think they prob coulda done a better job making it less bass boosted, and more aggressive w/ the crossover. I'm curious if the reason for the bass if because its just using a 6mm smol driver instead of using a larger one. Ive heard some other 6mm driver iems and they do really struggle in resolution both in bass & trebs
Firstly, rig is uncompensated and shows true readings.
Secondly, the bass boost is by choice and I think this is a good one. There are too many IEMS out there that is trying to feature a scooped /reduced signature and I applaud them for not trying to do that here.
Thirdly, nothing wrong with using multiple smaller drivers to handle bass. In the world of bass guitars there is always the choice of going with a huge cone driver vs multiple smaller ones. Which to use really depends on what sort of sound you are going for and both have their inherent benefits and issues to solve.
Different measuring rig gives different readings. So best if you can listen to the FIVE before verdict.
@@KopiOkaya Usually the case w/ a lot of the clone rigs obv, but still wish they went for neutral tuning, way too many harman and v shaped iems these days
@@KopiOkaya def seems like chonks rig or measurments prevent it from measuring the subbass in a similar way to others raw graphs. Or maybe he's not pushing it deep enough into the rig to get a proper seal. I'm looking @ other vids and it seems like he has the same issue w/ a lot of the responses from other iems.
@@ubacow7109 Unfortunately, you are not understanding my explanation.
As I mentioned already I do not use a compensated or maybe a better word would be a simulated graph which is often the case for Chinese 711 couplers and whatever software that is used.
If you were to believe what you see on squig to be true. Name an IEM that performs at those simulated (aka made up, aka imaginary) frequencies to actually have the dbs to match in reality at 20 to 30hz.
Next , if the seal was not proper, the whole bass segment will shift and this is be blatantly obvious.
Secondly, what my graph always include the system that I use. So you are trying to compare a cheap Chinese car with a BMW here.

Those are the 7hz Barrel tips. It’s not being sold yet and are only packaged with their products at the moment.
It was comes stock with our new 7Hz Barrel Eartips. These match well with the FIVE.
The penon Quattro came out before this with 5DD btw 🙂

@@simkim14facts Quattro = 4. Penon's house sound is sound old school bassy, where as 7hz seems to be delving into the old school bass sound only since Legato. I'm down. Bring on the bass!
This vs origin?
Actually, look to the Simgot EA1000. I found it superior to the Origin in many ways.
If you are looking for a more serious no nonsense high resolution sort of sound then the Simgot EA1000 (Or Tanchjim Origin). If you are looking to have a good time with thicker club like bass that still have a treble extension then the Five.
Why use 5 DDs when the sub bass roll off especially is so significant…I find it extremely lacking graphically!!
It's not rolled off. I use an uncompensated graph so it just shows what is true.
If you kept looking at graphs on squiq, chances are it is all compensated or simulated at 20 hz as clone couples are unable to measure there reliably. You should try to get a hold of an uncompensated/simulated graph and see how questionable it is.
In reality, 20hz reproduction is extremely difficult on a micro driver.
