It's interesting to see a lot of people wanting "the old tom back" and stuff from a Long way down, when honestly, I think tom got that amazing album moment that only really comes once in a lifetime for most artists. An album which is really incredible , and as such we can't help but compare every song and everything to it. However, at the end of the day, tom can do whatever he wants, and to be honest, I feel if every album was like Long Way Down, it might get quite boring, and people would want some diversity. And remember guys, he has only one album, going back to the old stuff doesn't make much sense when you have a couple of eps and one album because there really is no "old stuff".
Well, if you were to listen to an acoustic version of this song than it would just blend in with the Long Way Down album all together, it seams to me that these changes were made by some other music producer who wanted to make Tom appeal to an broader audience or maybe these changes were made by Tom himself but with the same idea in mind. Whichever may the case be its best to just wait for the album to come out and see what it's really about, if its an evolution, a revolution and so on.

These videos are trying to tell us a story . They start with the "wrong crowd" , Tom is with wrong people and obviously with the wrong woman. She doesn't really love him . "Magnetised" shows how he feels about that pretty girl . Tom knows that she will never love him back, so he runs away with his car. And in the end , " Silhouette" is about leaving her . He escaped from this but when they meet again , it feels so wrong that he can't put his arms around her . " I should never let you go " . He want her back , he doesn't care if she loves him, he just want her back. At " Here I Am " , we might think that Kevin Spacey is Tom Odell , but without wrong people and girls anymore.He is an "adult" now , he knows what to do... But we watch him running up the floors and trying to get to the party. The same party from "magnetised" . Maybe , all these wrong parties, wrong people, wrong girls are not really wrong. Yes, they destroy him , but they part of him. Without them, he is nothing. But these are just my thoughts.

TOM IS SO UNDERESTIMATED WHY
Tom Odell is a fucking masterpiece.
These videos are trying to tell us a story . They start with the "wrong crowd" , Tom is with wrong people and obviously with the wrong woman. She doesn't really love him . "Magnetised" shows how he feels about that pretty girl . Tom knows that she will never love him back, so he runs away with his car. And in the end , " Silhouette" is about leaving her . He escaped from this but when they meet again , it feels so wrong that he can't put his arms around her . " I should never let you go " . He want her back , he doesn't care if she loves him, he just want her back.
At " Here I Am " , we might think that Kevin Spacey is Tom Odell , but without wrong people and girls anymore.He is an "adult" now , he knows what to do... But we watch him running up the floors and trying to get to the party. The same party from "magnetised" . Maybe , all these wrong parties, wrong people, wrong girls are not really wrong. Yes, they destroy him , but they part of him. Without them, he is nothing.
But these are just my thoughts.
