Boss should put that in their advertising... "Boss The Scent Absolute: It just smells bloody good" The Fragrance Apprentice. I'm hoping this will be among my Christmas gifts, but if not, I'll be after it in the New Year. Cheers for the review, George.
I soooo agree. Went last week and tested Absolute and Private Accord side by side. Went home and immediately ordered Absolute! 100ml (Absolute)for 54 Euro vs 200ml(P A) for 60. So the scent itself blew me enough to choose the smaller bottle for virtually the same price.
Hahaha I was checking Fragrantica while watching this video and literally just saw your review there ! I definitely will try this one this week end, now !
@@adimazga I already want to rebuy Dior Homme Intense because my bottle is almost empty and something went wrong, I guess because of heat, it doesn't smell like before anymore (or maybe the regular version, I need to try them side by side). And... I think I fell in love with Tobacco Vanille yesterday. And now this one. Three fragrances wouldn't be wise :') I will have to make a hard decision
@@adimazga I only smelled the sport version once. It has nothing to do with the rest of the line, but it smelled pretty good for a sport fragrance! I might eventually buy it someday... to go to the gym!
Yes! Actually had an opportunity to sample this in the mall yesterday. Could not agree with you more! Was surprised with how genuinely nice this is. Another great review!
HB sure did some decent ones this year. Also enjoyed Bottled Oud Saffron and The Scent Absolute for her. Haven't tried Bottled Absolute, but it would've been nice if they did a stand-alone release. 7 flankers in one year is a bit much.
So weird how people view scents so differently. I was trying this in a store yesterday, along with a bunch of other stuff, and just dismissed it as another piece of sweet, designer dross lol Maybe I should give it a go on skin rather than the tester strip another time. I did, however, sample Ambre Sultan, and that was blissful. I always enjoy your reviews anyway, and usually agree on most frags.
Only 3 new designers releases wowed me this year. Armani Code Absolu, Moschino Toy Boy and Boss The Scent Absolute. I loved The Scent Absolute so much that I almost bought it at retail price as soon as it got released, which I never ever do. I got it as a gift for my birthday, as my friends knew how much I love this. They probably payed retail for it, but who cares, I just freaking love it. And now I have it in my collection, while not breaking my golden rule of not buying at retail price, which is hard cause now I am tempted to buy Toy Boy which is freaking gorgeous too... it's tough being a frag-head...
I decided to buy the husband a fragrance this xmas. He has no interest in fragrance AT ALL. . But I bought various samples, including this Boss Absolute, TF Oud Wood, Tobacco Oud, Mugler Pure Malt, YSL L'homme. . And a few other popular frags. Got him to blind test them all. . Boss The Scent Absolute won by a mile. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 SOLD! It's lovely, and I will say that it does remind me a great deal of L'artisan Noir Exquis, which is totally delicious also.
I havent even tried any Hugo Boss fragrances in so many years and just wrote them off as a whole. I find myself wanting to try this. Looks as though I'm gonna just have to blind buy this and hope that my opinion based off of notes and watching reveiws are on point like they usually are.
You know what..I even liked the original "the scent" fragrance..the dry down went a creamy green smell on my skin and enjoyed getting g the odd whiff of it during the day..so this is going on my ever growing to get list..
It seriously is the best "The Scent" release. Private Accord was fantastic, but this just had that Mondiola & Vetiver addition to Private Accord and make this perfect. Then you throw in the Longevity, compliments, etc to boot.. What more can you ask for??
Great video! I purchased this fragrance based on your video and after wearing the fragrance for about a week, I have to say, honestly, that I'm very disappointing. This fragrance opens with tones of orange and ginger, very strong and inviting, by all means, a great opening. They disappear very quickly moving to the dry-down notes which projects citrus and a tiny of vetiver. However, the dry down has this combustible, kerosene and tonka sweetness type of scent, which Hugo Boss calls it “boozy” which is completely wrong, it is disgusting. Moderate projection and longevity, I’m not buying this one again, ever. For those looking for a boozy fragrance, Thierry Mugler Angel Men Pure Malt is better and Paco Rabanne 1 Million Prive is the best.
8 didn't care so much for the Scent or Private Accord. The dusty element put it off for me. If it had been milky or creamy I would have gotten it. But this one knocked it out of the park for me. Sampled it, loved it, will be buying it this week.
The Scent -line was totally bashed when it first came out, nowadays they have many good scents and it has a uniqueness to it, which is a good thing naturally! Even the commmunity has warmed up to it. My favorite is the Private Accord -version, but no shame in the Absolute version :)
Can I ask you George is this, in your opinion better than spicebomb extreme? I'm trying to decide as I can only buy one expensive designer this month and I know Spicebomb is going to be hard to come by soon that's why I couldn't decide. Btw, the VR would be a blind buy too, and I've read a few negatives about it online too. Regards Mark
See.. this scent is very good, and is only rivaled in the scent line by private accord.. but the best designer release this year in terms of smell and quality is by for issey miyake pulse of the night...
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Scent Absolute is your winter Dior Sauvage. It has a similar vibe, not scent, that goes it a semi-gourmand way. Use Dior Sauvage in the summer and go for this in the winter.
@@drtmftr It is nice scent, it's my first Boss the scent, so it is unique in my collection because of the maminka fruit. I think you will be satisfied with the parfume
Why in the heck are so many reviewers starting their reviews by clapping their hands?? It doesn't get my attention as I already clicked to watch the video. It's a bit distracting and unnecessary. You're a great reviewer regardless.
Good release but definitely not the best and maybe I am biased when I say this because I love the Armani Code line as a whole , it’s the first fragrance I’ve ever had(original Code) but yeah to my point , best release this year is Armani Code Absolu .
I smelt one that smelled like chocolate. I thought it was private accord so I bought it on notio but turns out it’s not the one I smelt, the one I smelt was in a dark bottle. Anyone have any ideas which one it may have been?

eeew no, so sweet it's almost unreal (and I wear Dior Homme Intense a lot so I'm not a blue fragrances guy, but no, Legend is too much and too synthetic)
I just smelled this today. To me, this is everything I wanted Spice Bomb Extreme to be. This is a much better scent and a better alternative to me.

9 months after this review would you still buy this? Still like it?
I mite just prefer the private accord. I've been sniffing them both until my nose hurt trying to pick one indefinite winner.
This one really did remind me of La Nuit de l’homme . Already very familiar scent so would be a pretty much redundant purchase for me personally..
Heloo ! This or By the fire place ? Projection and longevity?

Yeah you lol
does ' the scent absolute ' and ' private accord ' differ enough to warrent getting them both
They are very different compositions yes, I'm personally not as hot on the Private accord.
@@TheFragranceApprentice thanks for the quick response
also which out of the ' bottled ' line would you say is best and if i got ' the scent absolute ' would ' the scent intense ' be a pointless purchase
How long is your Renier discount code good for?
Bryant Laney until mid January!
Designers use fragrances as a cash cow now, if you go in to their stand alone stores they either tuck them away or don't even sell the fragrances
