@@rodneyconcha2973 destroyer is 6. And yeah modok and a couple others are certainly undesirable. But as far a percentage goes, 5 is your safest number to hit. I'm saying 4 tuning into 5's you don't want turn 5's into 6 cost.
I have been playing Sersi in a Silver Surfer deck and it’s actually been pretty good! Use 4 or 5 good 2 drops with good on reveal effects like Okoye, White Widow, Forge ect and play them into the same lane, turn 5 you play sersi in that lane turning them all into 3 drops. Combine with the usual Sebastian Shaw, Brood, Absorbing Man and you end up with a pretty reliable deck! Just watch out for when Sersi turns things into sword master and Corvus which then discards your surfer!
My use with Sersi is to be a backup plan to Annihilus. You stack one lane with extremely low or negative power and if you don't have Annihilus, you drop Sersi instead. Best case you get some great surprise power. Worst case, you lose that lane you would have lost anyways. Don't think she'll find herself a Meta but shes definitely a fun roulette card. Plus junk filling the board then dropping Sersi on 5, Absorbing Man + GrandMaster on 2 to completely randomize by 3 lanes has been a lot of fun lol.
Yeah it makes the match up against Prof X not an instant loss cause if they try to prof your Void on 5 you can still Sersi and she can still transform even under prof
I just wanted to say that the first game i played against someone playing Sersi, they Sersi on TURN 6 in a lane with Blink and other cards, and Blink did transform into a Destroyer blowing up their whole board but Destroyer himself and they lose. Hilarious moment
Sersi sounds like she could be good, like Blink but for multiple cards. You could get a Professor X with multiple higher cost cards at the same location as well! The randomness is just part of it,like Valentina or anything else
Today i was playing a conquest game against a baron zemo/mill with Sersi list. Opponent played Sersi on a full lane who had a mantis, mantis turned into carnage and obliterated the lane. Crazy stuff haha

I like her. Then again, I got her because the two friends I play friendly battles with only play toxic junk style decks. So long white widow, black widow and goblins. I don’t dread playing against them as much anymore. She’s a nice addition to Annihilus decks as an alternative play if the negative cards are only going to be destroyed instead of sent over. But that’s pretty much the only deck I feel she fits in well with.
Twice a one drop has turned to a Beast and picked everything up on them, and once into US Agent, who I also had in lane. Sersi is hilarious from the opponent perspective .

Sersi working only for the opponent is the most Sersi thing I've seen all week. And the cards was only released about 15 hours ago. I think Sersi will do fine in decks that forces you to play random stuff, like Arishem.
I think the problem with Sersi Anni is that you want to clog your opponent and send the negative power over, not transform it. Without that Anni is a little weak on raw power.
Definitely notice a theme with Alex's reaction to cards. He HATES inconsistancy. I get it. But sometimes, there's a fun card of Chaos that just feels fun to play, like Pixie, and now Sersi.

This is Oscar worthy Snap content. Not sure if best acting in drama or comedy, however.
I think at this point it's fair to say that cards that bring randomness to the game with no other benefits will not be competitive options, but will be fun. I put Sersi in that category with Valentina and Pixie. Fun, inconsistent, magnificent when the bet pays off, but otherwise not competitive cards.

I think Sersi is very heavily under-rated here, Alex. I tried her in multiple shells getting the experience you described initially, until i tried her in a blink, tiger, leech deck. Worked insanely well.
I wonder, if Sersi will become better, after Arishem arrives. 6 cost will become Arishem. Arishem will turn into Death. Those are reliable plays, you know what you’re getting. Wong-White Tiger-Odin-Sersi will give You a 6 cost-Arishem-Death. That is 26 power + power of 6 cost from Wong. Magik is mandatory to pull it off.

Saying the card sucks and then in the next sentence saying it's super fun says all I need to know about the state of Snap. The fact that she's fun is exactly why I got the card. Sad people won't because they see reviews like this. The card is a blast, which is what a game should be about. Snap can be so fun when there's crazy variance. I wish more people would embrace that chaos and have fun with the game rather than racking their brains over being "competitive". I know Alex doesn't like variance (just look at his review of all locations, where he hates them all), so I'm not shocked he hates this card. Thanks for the video. EDIT: Adding this because my original post sounded too negative towards Alex. I love him as a content creator because he is very positive…except about RNG lol. I disagree with Alex on the competitiveness anyway, as you say this is Alex's established hate of RNG talking, but it's also a real question as to why people want cards in the first place. I just played Odin Sersi on Kamar-Taj. It ramp up cards keep changing keep on revealing effect card to card like I play 10+ cards there. Luckily it ended up with one of them Infinaut. Ngl it is so much fun 😂
Knowing that RNG-zuz allways f*s me over. I was really hasitant about this card. Watching you play it, made my decision easy. Maybe I get it another way, but I will not spend my resources on her. Did the same with Valentina (which is arguably the better card) never regretted it one bit.

I just have a feeling these 2 cards are going to have insane synergy. you will be getting that 1 plus energy so if there’s a way to test this idk if you could , but maybe playing cards like quintet,coulson , Valentina , and see what that does. What would the 6 cost card do from Valentina do at a 4 cost with sersi ?
Since I had 2 keys and don't want the cards next week I was thinking to myself, I could try one key and see what happens and got her! And I agree shes pretty fun but really not that competitive. Fun to play on electro on turn 4 though

I tend to not miss cards anymore. I know my luck. I leave it out and the card will be buffed in 1-2 weeks. I also like to have all available cards in my collection

It’s definitely a fun card that’s for sure but I wouldn’t say it’s a must have card Thankfully I got it in one key but unless your that lucky I wouldn’t drop 2 or 3 keys trying to get her Again it’s fun but her being able to completely screw over your match with a modok draw or a ultron or destroyer just blows your whole game up
He was awful at release, the patch and meta shift made him good. He is still only good because of prof X. The second they nerf X Cball is a C-tier card. Also your comparison is bad because Cball has a reliable effect, Sersi is random nonsense. You can never snap and guarantee a win unlike Cball with X.

If you want the card, get it. If not, don't. Alex is trying to provide some level of expectation to fight against FOMO.

In my first game today my opponent played a Sersi on a widows kiss, iron lad, and nebula (5 power) which proceeded to turn into an uatu, sera, and morbius respectively. Yes it was turn 6, and no they did not have any discard synergies. Also can anyone explain why the gladiator didn’t transform at 13:05?

Sersi is the first card I went for since blink for one reason only: Fun. The game needs fun!

kinda wild we have two very skippable 5/7s in the same season, at least Sersi comes with some shenanigans and isn't just a beatstick

Use Sersi on turn 6 with Sentry’s void. Using it on turn 5 may transform it into Modok, hence wiping your hand 😂

If they have the power to buff and nerf cards til the end of time, waiting a day, week, month will not remove their ability to do so, while simultaneously the card is not readily available to obtain even if it gains value later. Again, this is why the creators giving HONEST opinions and examples about the cards at release has SOME value. My comments were really directed at the specific mention of Alex's Cannonball review. We cannot predict the future and are hopeless to change it, I think he is just doing the best he can to keep players informed.

13:00 Why did Abs Man Sersi skip the gladiator?!
In my first game today my opponent played a Sersi on a widows kiss, iron lad, and nebula (5 power) which proceeded to turn into an uatu, sera, and morbius respectively. Yes it was turn 6, and no they did not have any discard synergies.
Also can anyone explain why the gladiator didn’t transform at 13:05?
