Thanks for this comparison! I really wanted to like the Thinline Strat (I love Tele Thinlines), but the clean tones didn't quite sound "Straty" enough played next to the solid body. It just misses that signature glassy tone that I would want and seems to lack a bit of attack. I didn't pick up much of a difference with overdrive. Thanks for the great comparison of tones. Must have been a bit boring to record, but it really helped!
I think Fender should work on having an overall consistency. Limited edition series would make sense if they weren't changing every 6 months their standard, deluxe, custom or elite, pro 1, pro 2, classic series, player series or any other series etc etc
I am watching these Thinline videos today and REALLY wanting to like either a Tele or Strat but in all the videos I have watched the Thinline guitars sound like they are being played "underwater" compared to the solid bodies.☹
Thanks for this comparison!

Your conclusion is exactly what I heard on the Stratocaster. Problem here in Naples Florida no store ever has them in stock so I have to buy to try.

beautiful shell pink tele
Justin understands, pick attack! Yo my new favorite.
if i'm not mistaken fender japan did the thinline aeroydyne type of strat back in 2010 ish
I believe you're right. A MIJ double humbucker thinline mahogany strat. Good call! - Justin
Fender has already done this with the Eric Johnson model.
Won't thinlines produce more single coil hums compared to solid bodies?
I don't think more hum Just more sensitive to feedback when using heavier drive.

Honestly I thought the thinline sounded more open. It felt like the all solid body just like closed in. Like it sounded compressed to me.
the solid bodys sound way better
F hole on a Strat is a big no NO.
It just doesn't work!
But it's so pretty.
@@sagittated I don't know...I just can't find it attractive.
Eric Johnson seems to disagree with you.
@@BenvanGeest haha that's true
@@BenvanGeest I disagree with him. No hole.
