Yeah, I couldn't parse that sentence until I heard the cat saying poopy again later in the video!
When we had a lot of rescue cats in the house, we had to apply child proof devices to all the cabinets to make them cat proof or otherwise the contents of the cabinets would be spread all about the room/s. We still have these child proof devices after 30 years of rescuing cats. They are a fun reminder of all the cats we ever rescued and there had to be about 30+ cat rescues over those 30 years. We are down to three cats and one dog and that's about our limit as we slide into our sunset years.

I have had cats and dogs together for 60 something years and never had any real problem with them getting along. Even dogs I have rescued from the side of the road and brought home. Maybe because they perceive the cats to be part of a pack along with the dogs, and both are already present when the new dog arrives. The only exception was my lab pit mix from the shelter who tried to get the kitties on first sight, and once more soon after joining us. I immediately let her know that wasn’t happening and I was the leader. Now, 14 years later, she and one of the kitties are still living and good friends.

Strange, I had the opposite thing in my house. My two cats treat my apartment like a warzone, each party has their own territory. They only call cease fire when I'm giving out treats or belly rubs. I got a sociopath disguised as a Chihuahua with anger issues and no boundaries (I'm serious. If he had thumbs, he would be a serial killer)
HIM they got along with like a bonfire. They both love the evil dog and hate each other. Cats. Are. Weird.

Please check out some Jackson Galaxy videos for info on reducing cat conflict. Mainly, make sure they have safe zones and enough space by building vertically. People and dogs move in 2D but cats can move in 3D so get them access to some of that unused space

Sometimes it takes a while and a lot of “stop, don’t do that … bad … no … no … noooo!!” But hopefully in the end it all works out and they become best buds. It happened with my Bogart and Hobbes. Bogart a beautiful 80lb. Great Dane Lab mix and Hobbes a twenty five pound Tiger cat. In time they were inseparable. Good luck with your beautiful Gumbo, a very handsome baby and your Koda a beautiful sweetie.

I have 1 dog and 2 cats. The oldest cat is the boss!
Well at least Gumbo didn't do his lion on the Serengeti imitation and try to choke the puppy like my previous cat did at first. But after that one time my late Chihuahua girl and late cat became quite close and they spent 16 years together until my dog passed. My cat would groom my girl, tamp down any loose hair he didn't approve of when she got back from the groomer, ate beside each other and my girl was never alone having a cat brother babysitter.

This is how I got my cats to live with my dogs. I have 2 Siberian Huskies. I got them at 8 weeks. Huskies can be prey driven and have killed cats so what I did was let my cats be boss. My cats would smack the crap out of my dogs as pups, I never gave the cat trouble. My huskies learned cats are boss and are now big grown huskies that are a little afraid of my cats. My one husky will lick them, my other will sniff but as soon as they get a swat from a cat they back off lol
