I used an old salt tank from water softener (Free) to store rodi water above and brute container for salt mix below. Cheap enough and still productive. It all depends on what your willing to spend or afford. Yours is rock solid in design and construction, well done!
Bro I am new to reefing. I don’t even have a tank set up yet but I bought the water containers and the rodi system so I’m following your set up. Thank you so much.
I would love to see an affordable mixing station video. I’ve thought of a mixing station but definitely don’t have the need for something quite like this setup
you prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
Yapsolutely would love to see a mixing station under $100 besides I plan to do a video of my mixing station soon it isn’t as heavy duty as yours but definitely gets the job done along with AWC. Thank you for sharing this and as always great content.. 👍👏👏
So they make these 45 gallon grain bin or feed bins, that are conical at the bottom they come with steel stands. You can plumb them the same as you see in your video. There the same price shipped as your containers. The other plus of these is there's no dead zone at the one inch mark where salt can sit at the bottom and not get mixed. I've used these for mixing nutrients for gardens and tea's as well. Plus there food grade plastic.
Awesome video! I recently put together my "Cheaper" version of a mixing station and it will be interesting to compare to your version, I'm definitely going to add the last sediment filter like you did as I never would of thought of that hahaha... Keep up the great content!!!
oh! that would be awesome to see you do a smaller version. seeing that my wife takes up 90% of our garage space. lol. in brute cans or a smaller version tank! thanks antonio. this is clyde by the way, the same guy that offered his cube 20 as a demo for your filter canister
Absolutely yes please!!! I would love to see your "cheaper" version, I don't have the space or the money to make one like the one you have now, so that's a big "YES PLEASE" for me!!! Oh, BTW... Love your vlogs!
One way to save money would be to eliminate the rodi storage tank and just fill straight into the saltwater tank. And save probably 100 to 200 bucks by using regular pvc and valves from lowes.
Love the cheaper set up idea. Also would love a possibility list. For example, I bet you would use brute trash cans for the cheaper version. Maybe lost/show containers that are more horizontal for those with limited space.
Love love love this video. This is the best mixing station and this is exactly what I want to do. Thank you. Wish I can find those tanks with the measurements on them and that price so ill do my homework.
I use the big blue hdpe 75 gallon shipping barrels, you can find them for 50-75 USD each.. they have a full open top and lid for ease of use and maintenance.. A lot of Caribbean stores will carry them .
I would definitely like to see a cheaper/smaller version of a mixing station. I currently have the AquaticLife RO Buddie which i use to produce my RODI water. Also, did i hear you live in San Diego? I do as well, what part of San Diego?
The most expensive part is the RODI filters and tanks. Look online and locally to get the best deal/size/fit. From there, rely on Home Depot/Lowe’s for plumbing fittings and Amazon for inexpensive pump (Jaebo), heater, digital thermometer.
I’m new to Reefing, so my questions might sound kinda dumb. Your Sicce pump is used to pump RO/DI water from the freshwater tank to the saltwater tank. The same pump is used to circulate the saltwater. You use the hose reel for water changes. Do you also use it for fresh water top off? Since the pump and hose are kind of contaminated with salt does it matter during water top off?
This is the cleanest set up I’ve ever seen. Do you apply pipe thread sealant to the connections? Also, do you put any other pumps in the saltwater tank or do you just rely on the turbulence from the Sicce pump to mix the salt?
Awesome video. This is exactly what i was also looking for all over youtube. Now I feel more confident about building my own mix station. Thanks!!!. QUESTION: How do you top off your tank? Do you use a bucket to fill your reservoir? and i always watch your videos till the end.
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community. It will make my project much easier. Just bought RODI and we have a “tank depot” with 50g vertical tanks. Do you use the same hose to drain your tank for water change?
Good afternoon. Great video. Question: Can you post a picture on how you installed the sediment filter coming from the tank to the reel. Please. Thank you.
Great video amazing mixing station! Always watch your videos till the end! I'm really curious on how you'll be deep cleaning the mixing bin after 5-7 months once you start seeing some build up in it. Will you use a pressure washer, or fill it up with rodi and add vinegar than rinse? Oh and please do make a smaller version of this setup would love to see how you'll do it. Thanks for the videos!!
Great video. Question on the sediment filter installation. Is it inline with the salt water being pumped out through the hose reel? Do you find that it restricts the water when performing water changes?
Can someone tell me if I can eliminate the extra valve and pipe run going to auto reel. Why cant I just hook my hose to output on salt exit valve like filling a bucket. Or am I missing something?
Hi there. This was amazing help. I ended up purchasing the automatic hose reel. Did you change out the hose? Mine is a different colour than your clear hose. And being that it is 5/8 hose, what did you use to connect the hose to your piping? Both ends (of the hose reel) come with typical connectors that looks like metal. And of course they should be plastic for our use. Thanks in advance and great videos - they’ve helped tremendously.
How are you managing the pressure pump. Do you just let it run or do you switch it off after an hour or two? I heard that a standard household ro pump shouldnt run for hours on end.
Did you mean that you are making 150 gallons of RODI per day? You said at 3:48 with the extra RO membrane you're making 150 gal/hour. I am running on house supply pressure of about 62 psi and I get about 6 gallons per hour with two membranes.
This was really helpful to get an idea of how to go about setting a mixing station up and visually understand the concept of how it works. Thank you!
I used an old salt tank from water softener (Free) to store rodi water above and brute container for salt mix below. Cheap enough and still productive. It all depends on what your willing to spend or afford. Yours is rock solid in design and construction, well done!
Finally. A nice, coherent explanation of these. Bravo buddy, bravo.
Would love to see a “budget” version of the mixing station!
Yes
Not on this channel
Bro I am new to reefing. I don’t even have a tank set up yet but I bought the water containers and the rodi system so I’m following your set up. Thank you so much.
I
I live in france , juste to let you know that your vidéo is magic !!!! Thanks a million ! And .... Bravo 👍!!!!
Stuart from Britany
I would love to see an affordable mixing station video. I’ve thought of a mixing station but definitely don’t have the need for something quite like this setup
Yes show the affordable version.
*realistic version
you prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Derek Enzo Instablaster =)

A budget set up would be pretty cool
Yes do it budget mixing station. Can't wait to see the fish in your reef tank
Awesome video! I recently put together my "Cheaper" version of a mixing station and it will be interesting to compare to your version, I'm definitely going to add the last sediment filter like you did as I never would of thought of that hahaha... Keep up the great content!!!
Excellent video! I'm new to reefing, so keep it up. I am now a subscriber!!
Glad to have you 😊
I've been wondering about these salt mixing stations. Thanks for sharing👍
oh! that would be awesome to see you do a smaller version. seeing that my wife takes up 90% of our garage space. lol. in brute cans or a smaller version tank! thanks antonio. this is clyde by the way, the same guy that offered his cube 20 as a demo for your filter canister
Great system design, simple and cost effective if you are providing water for several tanks.
Absolutely yes please!!! I would love to see your "cheaper" version, I don't have the space or the money to make one like the one you have now, so that's a big "YES PLEASE" for me!!! Oh, BTW... Love your vlogs!
Would love to see the smaller mixing station
Sweet first vote is in 🤙🏼
@@eatsleepreef9565 I would appreciate that big time
🤙🏼😊

Goals! It's on my 2021 list. Absolutely love this setup. I have a place in my Garage that is cut in just like that. Great job.
Thanks a million! You have no idea how much this helped me!
This is the best video I have seen on this topic. I’m trying to copy it. Do you have the ‘piping shopping list’ would help me out loads.
Nice setup... definitely giving me a great plan to start mine.
The more reef videos the better. Make all of them😁
Love the cheaper set up idea.
Super clean setup!

Smart idea. Really like the idea of using the pump to mix. Would deffo be interested in a cheaper build
Yes I would be interested to see the smaller option- good vid, nice and informative👍
New subscriber, love it... now I need to do a little one for my 80gallon tank
Appreciate the support 🤙🏼😊
I would definitely like to see a cheaper/smaller version of a mixing station. I currently have the AquaticLife RO Buddie which i use to produce my RODI water. Also, did i hear you live in San Diego? I do as well, what part of San Diego?
Definitely would like to see a budget friendly supply
The purple rodi cups can be bought off Amazon for $15 each!! I built my 3 stage di for $60 with fittings from Amazon
Nice setup! Do you also have a extra drain on top of the tank? Than you are sure nothing bad will happen when the float valve locks in wrong position.
Sweet video...thanks! I am going to emulate your tank as much as possible.
Very nice!! Thanks for taking the time to share. Good job!

Great video, thanks for sharing! Planning my own version!
Yes please do a budget mixing station
Yes please, cant wait to See, by the way, your Videos are Great, Keep on going.......
I am sorry if you covered this but how do you drain the water out of your tank to do a water change? Great video by the way!!
Nice set up very neat 👍🏴😀
Great video! Super informative. I live in San Diego and would to know where you got these containers.
I’m new to Reefing, so my questions might sound kinda dumb. Your Sicce pump is used to pump RO/DI water from the freshwater tank to the saltwater tank. Sicce pump does more than enough to stir the salt. I just used pvc cement for the pvc
Great video, thank you. That’s what I was looking for
Glad it was helpful!
I would love to see a smaller version of this mixing station. I have to money but limited space
Perfect. Exactly what I want to set up and the size is good. Maybe a mixing station that is around 500 dollars. 100 is probably a bit too budget.
Looks great.. Fyi Clear tanks get algae build up so does sq 40 pipe. Black tanks and sq 80 solve this issue 👍
Where did you get your really cool waterbox decal?
Awesome video. This is exactly what i was also looking for all over youtube. Now I feel more confident about building my own mix station. Thanks!!!. QUESTION: How do you top off your tank? Do you use a bucket to fill your reservoir? and i always watch your videos till the end.
I think he said he had a line straight from the RO system with a float switch.
extremely helpful video - thank you for this!
Very Clean setup. Love it.
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community. It will make my project much easier. Just bought RODI and we have a “tank depot” with 50g vertical tanks. Do you use the same hose to drain your tank for water change?
this helped alot for my upcoming setup. tyvm
You nailed it buddy... thanks for sharing.
Yes let’s see a cheap and compact mixing station.
Good afternoon. Great video. Question: Can you post a picture on how you installed the sediment filter coming from the tank to the reel. Please. Thank you.
Thank you for your great explain 🙂💯👏🏻👏🏻
Can you please go into more detail on how you hooked up and what is needed to hook up the sediment filter for the salt? Thanks!
very nice setup, very clean. What about adding another step to be able to drain the water from the tank, any ideas?
Very good tutorial ... 🙂 keep it up !
I live in San Diego. Where did you buy your Schedule 80?
Great video amazing mixing station! Always watch your videos till the end!
I'm really curious on how you'll be deep cleaning the mixing bin after 5-7 months once you start seeing some build up in it. Will you use a pressure washer, or fill it up with rodi and add vinegar than rinse?
Oh and please do make a smaller version of this setup would love to see how you'll do it.
Thanks for the videos!!
Would love to see the smaller mixing station version. Thanks
Still mixing mine in a brute and carrying buckets but only going about 20’
Hey there, what are the fittings or how did you connect from the bulkheads at the bottom of the barrels to the pipes going o the pump?
I live in San Diego. Where did you buys these tanks. I would love to go pick them up.
How do you connect the sediment filter to the hose reel? PVC or flexible tubing?
When are we gonna see the display!! Looks awesome by the way
Sunday 😊
Lovely set up :) - Amazing 👍
Would be great f you made the affordable version!
Great video, thanks for all the detail!
Have you also consider turning your system to provide drinking water as well?
On your Salt Tank, how far down does the top pipe go?
The RODI systems are rated in Gallons per Day actually! 150 Gal/Hour would be bonkers! :-)
Noticed this too. Lol
Great video. Question on the sediment filter installation. Is it inline with the salt water being pumped out through the hose reel? Do you find that it restricts the water when performing water changes?
Question, its a Great video, but if you needed to replace the pump, do you recommend putting 2 more unions above and in front of the pump ?
Great set up, quite impressive. How does your water get to the RO/DI system? Is it coming from the sink or sink plumbing?
Any rust come from the hose real??
Have you measured ppb on your product water?
Yes,would like to see the affordable version. By the way that’s an awesome set up, I just don’t have the space
great video! quick question, how are you heating the salt water before it goes in your display tank? Maybe i just missed that part :)
Can someone tell me if I can eliminate the extra valve and pipe run going to auto reel. Why cant I just hook my hose to output on salt exit valve like filling a bucket. Or am I missing something?
Hi, I think you would be relying on gravity and not pump pressure that way. So you wouldn’t get good head pressure.
This is a great video. Great job! Question does your sediment filter restrict the flow
I’m sure it does. But for me it’s worth it. I will have to remove it and try it. That’s also why I went with a 3/4 sized one
Hi there. This was amazing help. I ended up purchasing the automatic hose reel. Did you change out the hose? Mine is a different colour than your clear hose. And of course they should be plastic for our use. Thanks in advance and great videos - they’ve helped tremendously.
What size heater do you use for the saltwater container?
Where did you get the mixing tanks?
How do you add the salt ? Through that small hole at the top ?
Yes show a budget mixing station
Hey man what are those 55 gal tanks called
How are you managing the pressure pump. Do you just let it run or do you switch it off after an hour or two? I heard that a standard household ro pump shouldnt run for hours on end.
Can we get some more information on the choice 2 use 3 x mixed bed?
How long can you store water in tanks before it goes bad?
How do you heat the mixing reservoir?
How do you change the filter behind the tanks? It looks a bit tight.
Did you mean that you are making 150 gallons of RODI per day? You said at 3:48 with the extra RO membrane you're making 150 gal/hour. I am running on house supply pressure of about 62 psi and I get about 6 gallons per hour with two membranes.
What rubber grommet did u use at the top part to insert the pvc. Is it glued or slip it off
how is the saltwater heated? Is there a heater in the left tank?
