I’ve tried to not watch any video analyses of the Decalogue, in an effort to improve my understanding of movies just based on a viewing, but with 10 I needed another American to tell me what’s going on just to confirm my suspicion that the movie was in fact a comedy, as I definitely was not expecting it to be. What a genius Kieslowski was.
you're welcome. for a real trip, his "White" in the Three Colors Trilogy is possibly a sequel to Decalogue X, which uses the same actors as a brother pair, and similar kinds of comments about Poland's place in the EU, Poland's future, etc.
