The Microsoft Outlook app is amazing. One of the things I like about it is its account switching, along with its easy to access contacts and files in the search tab and the calendar page. The Gmail app is terrible in finding files and especially on IOS, they want you to download the Google Calendar app and others to view something that the Outlook App already archives in 1 single application.
ty so much, there are not many UX videos when you search on UA-cam and I immediately watched this. Some of the topics I would like covered in a future live stream is UI/UX in regards to websites! I see a lot of videos covering some theoretical knowledge about UX and maybe they'll touch on mobile, but there are few videos covering UI/UX (Invision, Figma, Adobe XD) on actual web design.
@@DanielSu123 Hey Daniel! We've heard good things about this too. Could make a nice 'utility UX' style stream in the future! Thanks so much for sharing.
@@perc-ai Great, so like a live prototyping style video? Or solely focussed on UX project builds? That could be really fun! Love the idea of a prototyping comparison too, thanks so much for sharing these ideas!
Hey Cynthia, really glad it was of value to you! We're curious, are there any other topic areas that would be beneficial to your learning? (Live stream focussed?)
I can binge watch this kind of format any day! I started learning about UX for a week and this critique gives me a lot of information about design thinking on a senior level. Re. Notion - it doesn't have "dumb tables" which gives unnecessary complication in writing info in a tabular format.
Hi, I'm new to UI / UX. I like the way you analyze applications and whatever you do in this video, it's very helpful and fun. Can't wait for another episode with a format like this. And I'm interested in Tim's notes in Notion about B2B. Can you discuss this in another video?
Hey Dionisius, thanks for the feedback we're glad you enjoyed it! Sure, we'll see if we can open up some of the B2B workings on strategy etc in a future live stream! Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks a lot for the feedback Andreas! There'll be more live stream like this in the near future! If you have any suggestions for apps to look at, or topics you're interested in for the live stream please let us know!
Google Map as a master map is nice. You can create your own custom map, collaborate with friends. I usually use that as my master map for traveling because it is easiler to gather all the wanted location to visit and utilize the GPS function while driving, and it is very hard to switch location when I drive. For reviews, I use what most local will use yelp, 大眾點評, tripadviser ......
Seems like a solution to that Airbnb problem is to have an affordance to set more preferences before you pick a place to rent. Things like restaurants, cafes, events that might be happening during your stay, etc. That way you're not having to scan the map . Just let Airbnb's data and algorithm do the hard work of optimizing a selection for you.
I love this! Great teamwork you three were showing here! Next time perhaps apps name should be showing as a subtitle...it might be helpful! Can’t wait for the next one
21:00 - Just tried Miranda: a few render issues on iPad, but also I actually needed time conversion btw time zones not btw different cities. I suggest adding time zones as well would make it even more useful.
haha i still use foursquare and i love it, but most people i know or the community in general stopped using it so sometimes the reviews are not up to date anymore :(
I'm not sure why you guys opted to use two mics but from what I could tell the iPhone view uses one mic and the main camera view uses another? I'm assuming that's how you have it set up. During transitions, this results in hearing both audio sources for a brief period. I'd suggest finding a way to only use one mic.
Hey, sorry for that, we experienced some audio issues at the start of the stream as we were using both new hardware and new software. We had a main mic, and a back-up mic, that iPhone mic wasn't used at all. It was the easiest fix for us short of stopping the stream but we hope it wasn't too annoying. We'll have it sorted next time! Thanks for the feedback though, and hope you enjoyed the content!
@@AJSmart It wasn't too bad! Just wanted to point it out in case no one had noticed it yet. In the past, I've used OBS for broadcasting. Its usually used by twitch streamers but would work perfectly fine for youtube. It allows you to have multiple views and is pretty easy to set up. Maybe check that one out. Great video though! Really enjoying your content as of late.
Someone may have mentioned this, but in addition to AirBnB, have you tried HomeAway/VRBO? I'm in the US (near Boulder, CO) and compare AirBnB to HomeAway whenever I travel because there tends to be some unique listings between the apps. In fact, I'm headed to Europe in August and booked all my accomodations through HomeAway (including a houseboat in Amsterdam!).
Google Maps: I search for what I want to eat (eg “burger”) and Google gives me a list of options nearby. You have much more info about the restaurants in the list, incl stars and some pics. Indeed, not much info on the map. What makes it annoying for me is that reviews are scattered btw different apps like Foursquare, G Map, Tripadvisor and local sites/apps and for me this makes it difficult for the user to get the right info to decide...
6:10 I believe that Google Maps only promotes the companies that have met certain thresholds such as ratings and if they pay for advertising. I wish money didnt pull all the strings :/
Thumbnails are always difficult since everyone has a different taste (hence Netflix's Thumbnails customisation) That said, the thumbnail was soo clickable for me. Would be interested what other people think about it? 👍🏼🤔
@@emilvonschwartzenberg4339 ahhhhhh somehow missed that completely sorry. #friday.... Thanks very much! Nice to mix up the styles and see what stands out! Thanks for the feedback!
Loved the review, folks at AJ&Smart! Can I please know what tool you used to create this video? i.e. the screencast app and how you make it transition between your actual video and the screencast video. Thanks!
Hey! Sure, we used OBS which is an opensource streaming program. You then stream from that to UA-cam live. For the transition screens - We made them in photoshop then brought in the different elements into OBS to create different 'Sources'. The phone screen was an overlay skin, but the phone footage was recorded live by connecting the iPhone screencast as a camera feed. Hope this helps!
9:40 way to many assumptions there... just because the three of you don't use the restaurant part of Google Maps, doesn't mean that it isn't used at a massive scale, most of my friends and family members ditched other apps because Google does such a good job, meh.
Of course it are assumptions and those assumptions need to get researched eventually. The point here is to show us where things could potentially be improved. Further more, just because most of your friends and family members ditched other apps for Google doesn't mean that most people might dislike the way restaurants work in Google Maps.
That’s good to know as you guys do amazing videos. Looking at how bad Miranda is in landscape I was shocked to see you guys say this was a well thought through app.
