    Thats right. The roll of fabric is bunting. Used to decorate streets during patriotic moments, hence the accompanying flag. Cheapest material they could make at the time. Definitely not upholstery material.

    Why should it be unusual to find a shoe factory in a country town. The renowned company ClarksShoes, begun by a Quaker family, had its headquarters in the sleepy town of Street, Somerset for many years, for example.
