Ah this episode. A great fight animation for how old it is, but it was insanely controversial then and it still is now. Even Death Battle admitted just how wrong this episode was. If the fight was re-done today with how Death Battle does their research now it would be an absolute stomp. Tifa goes all the way up to multiversal and MFTL+ and Yang only goes up to City Block level and FTL reactions. With the way Death Battle scales things they'd probably put Tifa at around multi solar system level if the fight was done today.
The end of the fight where the music plays is from RWBY and the song "Burn" is from the trailers (I remember too much for not watching it since you watched the newest stuff)
So 2 things lead them to say it goes the other way, 1. this is before season 3 when we get to see Yangs limits, her semblance and aura don't make he invisible 2. They hadn't established yet how they would determine RPG characters power levels seeing as so much of that is player choice, because of this they way underestimated Tifa's power and ability
Honestly I have a soft spot for this episode It's because of this episode that I started watching RWBY Neo has a popular opponent in the form of Toga from MHA If fact that match up became better after time unlike the other RWBY Vs MHA match up
Ah, and so your watch of the Death Battle RWBY trifecta is now complete! We just have to wait for Ruby vs Maka to come either next year or 2026 and we’ll have the main OG cast! It’s a shame this is the first Death Battle that RWBY was exposed to, because man has it aged horribly.
To be clear, this is generally considered one of the most incorrect episodes they've ever done, with every single member of the team having directly said that Tifa wins with no difficulty. Tifa is generally considered thousands of times faster than light and a solar system buster at a *minimum,* with very valid arguments for her being a multiversal character in the same vein as someone like Goku. Suffice it to say, Yang doesn't quite reach that level.

7:18 that question is kinda answered in the mini unfinieshed episodes RT released before they took their site offline.
