  • Cláudio Ibrahim Vaz Leal, born 4 April 1964 in Bagé (Brazil). 97 games and 11 goals in Serie A, playing as left back with Brescia and Genoa. Branco was a renowned free kick specialist (as was his international successor, Roberto Carlos).
    Branco appeared 72 times for Brazil, between April 1985 and February 1995, and scored 9 goals. He won 1994 FIFA World Cup, he played in a total of 12 matches in 3 World Cup tournaments (also 1986 and 1990) and he also won 1989 Copa América.

    Roberto Carlos' idol. One of the best left back in the brazilian history.

    The original Roberto Carlos. I remember him well at my childhood (and forever) club, Fc Porto, where we had the pleasure to have him on blue and white for three long seasons, something unthinkable in today's football. He should have played for un in 1987 when we won the Champions League and then move on to Real Madrid, Bayern or whatever, but not in Brescia or Genoa, with due respect. Oh, and he should've never drunk from that argentian water bottle in Italy 90 World Cup, just saying...
