No. 17 Either ....or can be followed by plural nouns as well. For eg, Either the President or his secretaries are coming. This is called Proximity to the subject. The verb agrees with the subject nearer to it when a singular subject is combined with a plural subject.

The correct phrase to use in this context would be "I have been playing for 2 years." This indicates that you started playing 2 years ago and have been playing continuously since then. If you use "since" in this sentence, it would be structured like this: "I have been playing since 2 years ago.

    14:29
He went to _____ which was very exciting
There is "was" in the sentence ... so the blank will be singular ..... if there is "were" in the blank then plural option the right answer.

You can use "since" in a sentence like this if you specify a specific point in time when you started playing football. For example:
"I have been playing football since January."
In this case, "since" is used to indicate the starting point in time when you began playing football. However, if you're specifying a duration (1 year in this case), it's more common to use "for":
"I have been playing football for 1 year."
So, the choice between "since" and "for" depends on whether you want to emphasize the starting point in time (use "since") or the duration (use "for").
