Mr. Ken agreed
Lol
you do realize this was recorded in 2009
An interview about interviewing, INTERVIEWCEPTION!!!!!!
Thank you for this interview on how to conduct a good interview.
Omg this comment is very old
this is the first video i encountered and i must say, it is the most appropriate for my journalism class. they should learn a lot from this one. thanks ms. katie.
It's a selfless job in my opinion. You have to be willing to listen and be flexible. That's from my experience in life. Don't worry so much about sticking to the "story" you are assigned that you forget about the person you are interviewing and make biased decisions or statements. Try to keep an open mind and imagine this person's home environment so you make them as comfortable as possible. I can not stress enough to learn about them as much as you possibly can before interviewing them and to keep a list of questions but use sparingly.
That's pretty much what was already said, but in a different way from my opinion.
Nice Video clip! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard about - Schallingora Information Investigation Scheme (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome one off product for learning what you need to say to get hired in a job interview minus the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my best friend Jordan at last got cool success with it.
yes. Katie is such a selfless person, lol. always thinking of others.
Is there any chance we could get a new or revamped version of this? I've been using this as a teaching resource for years, but every time my students see it they ask why it's super compressed and why the audio sounds like they did everything I teach them not to do.
This was great advice. I'll definitely be keeping this in mind during my next interview. Thanks Katie!
Great advice! Thank you
Thanks for sharing!
My, she's good and very articulate. The tips were greatly appreciated.
Thank you for posting this. Very informative.
Its so old that its in 240p , glitchy and does not say when it was posted
Thank you for doing this Katie, I'm writing a reporter's television interview in a novel and this is helpful.
I know you wrote this two years ago, but how's the novel coming along?lol
@@leoniemanafa3237 rewriting the last two chapters, should be ready for the editor by next week. thank you for asking
@@tophat2115 Aw cool! I'm invested now😂
Basically this video is an interviewer interviewing an interviewer while getting interviewed by an interviewer.
謝謝您的分享,真的很實用呢!
(Thanks for sharing, it's really useful.)
Charming, graceful, articulate! She brings the same qualities to the fight against cancer as she does to her journalism.
Great advice :)
Couldn't agree with you more!!
I am part of a panel tomorrow!
That guy did a great job. Very natural. 😎
"PLEASURE?" LOL that was soo cute Katie..
I adore her soo much..
I've learned a lot of things from her.
great video..
hell yeah!!
"Hi! I'm Katie Current, keeping it current."
Oh lord lol
Katie Couric the best of the best !
in the world of the news
Thank you for your comment Ms Palin..
Thanks! i am a interviewer now!!!
So we're just going to pretend like 720p recording didn't exist in 2009? 240p is unacceptable.
I lol'd at the title.
"Loaded for Bear"? But they're one of the coolest animals.
I love you Katie❤️ I am from Uzbekistan. What do you think, If I study in US, I will able to work TV in US?? Now, I am a final year student of international journalism faculty at University.
She really made Palin very comfortable!!
What's with all the dislikes, this was a good video o0 Might some palin fans be amongst the haters?
I do my first red carpet interview tomorrow :)
I've got to be honest...when I first saw the title of this video I thought they were being sarcastic. =)
Hi Katie
I was interested in your comments about interview technique. I am looking for a mentor and appropriate media training in New York .I would be very interested in your Ideas and feedback on developing a career in the media.
Craig
She's such a cutie!
icytea5 bruh
lmao
wow
Love that Katie describes the tone she's use with David Dukes as "more pugnacious"
and need to be "loaded for bear" :-) Now let's hear what makes a good interviewee! I would like to see all news people remember that they are journalists & newspeople rather than what they seem to have begu considering themselves--more like therapists. Empathy in all human beings is important..but so is providing us with news!
cool
Cool video, albeit a bit laggy. Are you on BitChute?
Remeber her Sarah Palin interview,
Classic
i am thinking the same thing
Katie Couric is a raving liberal and lightweight journalist.
Every single weeknight on News Hour on PBS there's a segment with pictures, rank, age, name of the recent fallen. Shep Smith just summed up his journalistic ethos for me: "I love car chases". Funny guy! Yes, Fox news is better; right now MSNBC is covering a car chase in California and Fox has one in TX. Rachel Maddow has many of the most substantial Obama critics on nightly. Honest.
what web page is that on?yea she;'s kicking ass all right for dead last!!!
I like her
SPLASH! BUBBBBBBBBBBBBB!
Are there any experts in New Media on this channel?
He should ask her, "How do you get such low ratings and still stay on the air?"
I just saw an OrangeGlo commercial. i almost cried. srsly.
I'm getting into this citizen journalism stuff, and I interviewed a family, a man from Pakistan and his wife from the U.S., who have suffered after a false accusation of terrorism by a racist family member led to his arrest and torture by the U.S. government. You can find it on my channel, it's quite interesting, and constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks.
I never said they were unbias. The difference between Couric and Rush/Sean is that Rush/Sean never claim to be unbias, ask them, they say it all the time when callers call them bias, they agree everytime. Couric HAS claimed to be unbias. She has said it in interviews, and in abiography that was written about her. Also, Rush/Sean arn't considered news reporters, they give their opinions on the news, where bias is ok. Couric is strictly news stories, which calls for unbias, which she is not.

All of my interviewees ramble on and on. How can I get my interviewees to give shorter concise answers?
Ask more pointed and concise questions, not yes or no questions as such but not too broad that they can speak for ages. Also, a good old interruption if they move off topic. I’m not a journalist myself but I want to become one
This is like Michael Jordan telling you how to play the game of basketball... Absolute Gold!
Oh this is a bit of a misunderstanding, see I commented on your page because for some reason I couldn't post here as a reply, bad move on my part. Also, the way I read your post the first time, it sounded like you were saying Couric should only do one or the other, and that she's biased for changing her questioning style. My bad lol
How do you conduct a good interview? Invite Palin. Hahaha!
Oh please.
who’s here from trinity yr8 😂
Fruztrxte yo zach
Dan Hill yo dan
I would love to see her freak out while interviewing with Bobcat Goldthwait...
what has she done to her hair?
how do you figure
How many people out here in 2021 watching this? XD
Katie sounds best when Auto-tuned by the Gregory Brothers.
Actually, she used pugnacious correctly. She was talking about David Duke who is a white nationalist. Couric said that she would be "pugnacious" if she were interviewing him meaning she would be ready to challenge his beliefs and reasoning.
@gootenslog Huh?
I personally prefer interviews filled with awkward pauses that end in violence, it's just more fun that way.
O please
katie is one of these rare creatures these days a real reporter i look at guys like hannity talking over their subject never listening or guys like olberman asking questions that are really statement. and i get so frustrated reporters arent supposed to give their own opinion their supposed to dig up the truth katie does that the palin interview was a great example of that we would have never known just how unqualified she was if not for that interview
I agree with "coolcat20million." If Katie were the "best newsanchor" - as you said - then she wouldn't be dead last in the ratings all of the time.
Instead of telling "coolcat" to grow up, maybe you ought to get some more life experience.
This was very good! Thanks for the suggestions! Quint Lears - New Home Sales
The Palin massacre was made even more epic by the fact that the questions couric asked were pretty basic.
They should've interviewed Jeremy Paxman. Now there's a good interviewer
I've never seen KC do a "good" interview. How can she purport to tell anyone how to do so?
I suppose you would have preferred such relevant questions as, "What is your favorite snack food?" or "Which comic in the 'funnies' do you enjoy the most?"
Let's agree: questions are biased when they're obviously constructed against the person's assumed ability or presumed knowledge. So why wouldn't a potential VP be expected to have an opinion about some legal case not taught as common knowledge in public schools? Is it bad form to expect someone of such potential stature to show intelligence?
Can someone help with her name
Bill O'Reilly and friends should take some lessons.
Ask questions you know they can’t answer! Sarah palin what magazines do you read! Deer in headlights!
Ok, lets play interview. I'm a quick-witted, fast-talking reporter with many questions to ask that have been hounding my network's online message boards. You're a person who likes to carefully consider what they say, and polish out a response before and after you open your mouth.
Under your view I should treat all my interviews the same: only question you fast or slow; only slap you with tons of shallow easy questions or pass you real questions people want to hear. What a dumb thing to suggest.
She's colder than Scrooge when it comes to interviews.
lol
Tony: Good job on the interview,. You seemed quite natural doing this. Better than a lot of the "pros" I've seen do the same thing! (FYI: My voice is ALMOST back!)
Katie: Have you ever have trouble maintaining composure during an emotional interview? Maybe start to cry or get too angry?
Also, Sarah Palin has said that she was unhappy with how she was portrayed on SNL (in the re-enactment of your interview with her). But how did YOU feel about how Amy Poehler portrayed you?
Katie Couric is very well spoken... Too bad she works for network news and its a bunch of bias BS...
YO
I really enjoyed meeting Katie in New York
@gootenslog huh?
Mrs. Sawdey anyone?
Vicki Lawrence
like she would know what makes a good interview.
i guess #1 would be, "don't let katie couric do it."
I really like Katie.
Very helpful! She even used the word "pugnacious" lol. Katie is wickedly smart too, man what a great woman.
I love Katie Couric!!! She is the TRUTH
Hallelujah!
She's a phony!
A good interview should challenge the subject when the subject is only interested in offering spin.
It is funny how certain people attack Katie Couric and question her journalistic skills just because their idol (Caribou Barbie) looked kinda bad on TV and was exposed for what she really is.
Katie Couric pontificating on how to perform a "good" interview. Is this a joke? Go check your ratings, Katie. They'd make anyone blush.
They should be having Colbert do this instead of Katie Couric
Pass the bucket...
Katie here's the real news - it's not about you.
Get lots of extra footage, use that footage to dishonestly edit your interview to match your narrative. That how Katie does it!
"You're obviously known for your "interview" "skills"..."
