Ok, I just saw a Cricket attack, kill and eat a Tarantula. Obviously it's a kind of predatory Katydid but those are still Crickets. A Cricket eating a spider, never mind a Tarantula was nothing I would ever have believed if I hadn't just seen it with my own two eyes. That was just too damn cool! LOL I'll go out on a limb and say that will go down as the coolest fight in Monster Bug Wars history. I mean, let's face it, once you show a Cricket that just steamrolls a Tarantula, nothing else will ever hit that level of unexpected coolness!
The thing is, a scorpion, even a baby, has venom and that is the ultimate equalizer in the insect/arachnid world. When one thinks of a cricket, they don't think of a ferocious killer like they would a tarantula. A cricket has no venom, so it can't land a lucky shot with a stinging tail like a scorpion, even a baby scorpion, can. I NEVER saw this outcome coming, with a scorpion, victory is always generally though of as possible. Spiders are usually a large part of a scorpion's diet. I can't say the same for ANY kind of cricket.
